Mel Giedroyc (of Mel and Sue fame) has written two: From Here to Maternity and Going GaGa. I have read both and they are incredibly funny - laugh out aloud kind of stuff.

The Fat Ladies Club is fantastic. It's a non-fiction book about a group of women that meet at an antenatel group. A brilliant read. xx

Not your usual chicklit, but the Autobiography of a One Year Old is really good.

secret diary of a slummy mummy is a good one. The kids in it are a bit older than newborns but it is still great escapism from the hard work of new motherhood.
