Snape
, although I knew he was going to die in DH
Worst thing about it though was the way he died - was so distraught that he was bumped off by Nagini and he didn't even get to tell Voldemort what he thought of him. (Snape wasn't yours!!!!!)
Second to Snape was Dobby, I had been told that Dobby would die in DH and I thought 'oh well' but when I actually read it I cried buckets. When Fred died I just went cold - couldn't quite believe she killed him.
Did you know she killed Lupin off because she couldn't bring herself to kill off Arthur Weasley who was originally her father target for death.

i would have to say Lupin, with snape running a extremely close second, i love lupin and after having sneaked my books from under DH's nose, i am now onto the PoA and remembering how nice he was.
Snape i love to, although as always i am unsure as to whether it is snape i love or Alan Rickman lol

Hi all - thanks to Orlando for pointing this to me - used to come on years ago, but have only been coming on again for mth or so
I am sure you have covered all the HP Stuff before, so not meaning to make you repeat stuff (but if you are like me you won't mind talking about HP Books again!!!)
Anyway, just wondered who were you most upset (for want of a better word) about dying in DH.
I was well gutted with Lupin got killed, he was always one of my favourates (well PofA was initially my fav. book).

I will join you in protest and so will my children!
I even managed to get Dobby in a photo today quite sneakily! lol.

You don't know the importance of Kreacher to the plot until DH, in HBP in basically a miserable little elf who now belongs to Harry - actually, that would be a fab scene in the film, to see Kreacher kicking and screaming on the Dursley's floor

If Dobby is not in HBP I may have to hold a protest - because if he is not in HBP then he most likely will not be in DH and that thought is too much to stand

But we kind of have seen bill, in a photo of when they were in egypt in PoA,lol. But yeah i suppose it would be silly.
And i guess it would also be stupid to have the twins in the film they are in for all of 5 minutes, poor twins, no pay pack for them this year

They shouldnt of missed so many elfs out... Especially in GoF,lol. Socks is Dobbys Favourite Sir, I has 7 now!

How many years older were the twins to ron? A year? Because if so how were they on the school quidditch team the previos year? lol.... Ive only just realised it in the book.... how slow am i, i had to re-read a few lines and Xand was like , mummy keep reading to me then!!

the house elfs are quite important to the plot in dh though arent they? With Kreachers relationship with regalus black and voldemort using him to test the strenght of the horcruxes? dont think they can leave that out as would be quite a big gap?

I had heard the 'Phlegm' story line had been ditched, which I guess is understandable - but then it means it DH all of a sudden we will have a wedding between the brother we have never laid eyes on - and the useless girl from GoF!!
They might show the twins shop - but without the twins, as in they will march down Diagon Alley and see the outside of the shop (Mrs Weasley complaining about the U-NO-POO sign and the rest laughing) - then Harry will spot Draco and follow him down knock-turn alley, the scene ending with the idea being planted that Draco is up to no good and then cutting to train journey to school... That will keep the twins in the plot - without them being in the film so to speak.
I can't see SPEW ever being mentioned - after all the only two house elves the film going public have ever met are Dobby and Kreacher, and as far as they are concerned Dobby just had a nasty owner and Kreacher is just a git - the movie going audience know nothing of Kreacher being what his owners have made him and the whole idea of you can tell much about a man not by the way he treats his equals but by the way he treats those beneath him (they didn't show Sirius's nasty attitude to Kreacher in OotP).
I really hope Dobby is in HBP - I really think he deserves a death scene in DH and is not just forgotten about. Poor Dobby *here lies a free elf*

it does seem quite simple to me that the films should be exactly the same as the book but then i would be more than happy to sit thro 7 or 8 hours of harry potter lol

I am not happy, why cant they tell the story properly, I have put up with this nonsense through all the other films, but these books deserve to be filmed in their entirety. (Even the silly elf welfare bits Sallie!)

Yet again we have to start a new thread. I hope this is the last time. The original from the old forums is in Debates but thought it best to carry on from whwere we left off. At least the May threads are still accessible but I intend to save just in case.
