Hi im a 14 - to 16 . i try to avoid horizontal stripes as they make you look bigger , you should avoid bright colours on the areas your not happy with as this accentuates them , ie - big thighs dont wear bright trousers or white . Use a waist belt to accentuate this area and it pulls u in and gives u an hour glass figure. Heels are a must to make u look taller and leaner , hth a little x

Hi, Im sorry to intrude this forum but I need some help. Im going out with 2 friends on friday but I have no idea what to wear or what might suit me.
Im a size 20/22 and I spend most of my life in jeans and baggy tops and don't really have anything nice.
I went to Evans today and there was some lovely tops on sale (both with a polka dot pattern ) but they looked awful on me.
Please, does any one have any tips on what the larger lady can wear on a night out? I would rather wear jeans and a nice top but im really not stylish, do i need a belt? a thin one, large one? Printed top or not? and what is the genral rule for colours, do shoes need to match the top?
Im so sorry for all the question but after 6 years of being a very non trendy mum I have no idea.

Go for v-necks, they draw the eye to your cleavage (how much is up to you! LOL!)and elongate your top half.
Empire lines flow over chunky waists & hips (not too much material- go for a subtly fitted style or you'll look pregnant)- avoid anything that stops on the widest part of your hips or it'll make you look wider.
If you're feeling girly- go for a-line/prom-style dresses or skirts- but avoid ones that are too 'full' or you'll look bigger?
Boot-leg trousers/jeans are most flattering on wider legs. Avoid bold prints/patterns, go for subtle ones instead- and last but not least- ignore 'fashion' to a certain extent- its created by skinny's for skinny's- some looks work on larger ladies, but some don't- so go for something that looks good on you- not necessarily on the pages of a fashion magazine. If YOU think you look good you'll exude confidence and that creates an aura of attractiveness. Good luck!
