I know my situation was not quite the same, but we only had 50 turn up for the main part my partners sisters & their children didnt turn up, wasting our money too, we also only had 18 guests coming in the evening in which I believe 8 turned up lol!

I too had a cold 4 days before the wedding but it just dissapeared on the day, i think its all the stress & worry, but on the day your mind is taken off it.

I had a great day, I was annoyed that people didnt turn up, but it truthfully didnt make a difference them not bieng there I was just annoyed through principle!!

Please enjoy your day, and do not let anything ruin it, go with the flow and it will turn out fab!

first hun it is not you don't think it is, second the people that come will make your day so special so the people who don't will never understand as they didn't come, i know you must be so upset that people have cancelled on you but see if you can get money back if not say to them you want some as they cancelled so close to the wedding.

your wedding day will be so special you wont even bother about who not there.

aww hon, i just want to give you a huge hug. your wedding day is what you make it. maybe speak to where your having your reception tell them that theres been a change in numbers and you want to reduce then, you might be able to save a bit of money. and what you save treat your family with. my 18th was like that (i know its only an 18th) but the few people that did come made it a fantastic night. have you thought about inviting work friends?

most of it ive worked around but today we've had to chase people up for definate numbers and so many people have cancelled last minute, close people to (such as brothers).... we are now left with 32 adults and 18 kids for wedding (plus our family of 6) and only another 15 or so extra for reception after. I cannot believe this....if i knew so many people would cancel on me last minute i wouldnt have spent so much making the day perfect, catering for 110, 15 bottles of champagne for toasts etc the list is endless. I know me and partner will be there and thats what matters but i just feel like ive wasted so much money to make it special for guests that are now not going to be there and also feel that people have really let us down which upsets me. Just feels like nobody cares,even those that are meant to be our closest. No stag night has been arranged for partner or hen night for me or even mention of one so when we mentioned possibility no1 was interested, i have to pay £120 for a taxi home for the only 5 members of my family that are coming (2 of them are kids) and pick them up on day otherwise i have no family there. Long story but basically i was abused as a child and sent to live with my aunty who i grew up thinking was my mum and i have no real family to call my own as that family never accepted me and dont talk to me except for mum (dad passed away on my 18th). Have been in 2 violent relationships where i was badly abused and lost a child and i ended up with no friends after that which is why its so important for me to have some family there as i have no1 else. Now alot of partners family arent coming either. Cant help feeling that maybe its coz of me,no1 ever seems to stick by me. Sorry rant over now,just helps to get it off your chest sometimes.
