Apart from internet searching, if you go to a dressmaker, they may be able to make something from scratch, might be a cheaper way round it.

hiya
i was sort of in your situation, i found the dress of my dreams and it was £595
didnt really want to spend that much as we are on a budget, so after trawling through the internet i found a dress company landy bridal that said they copy the dresses so it would be the same for a fraction of the price. it cost £100
it turned out to be a cheap imitation, even the materials werent right. it was made far too small aswell. am currently i a battle with them to get my refund.
i have now had to talk to my partner about spending the extra money to get the original dress as i was in tears about not getting the dress.
its costing more to get the dress i wanted in the first place.
is there anyway u can cut back on another cost to get your dress?? thats wot i have had to do, i know it will be worth it though
hth xx

Yeah I agree with pp. Dont go for cheap imitations, you'll end up disappointed and spending more money. There are a few good websites, but google your dress and see what comes up, you never know your luck. Ebay is fab, there is a huge range on there.
Good luck hun. Only other thing you could possibly do id buy a cheaper plain dress, in the same sort of style/shape/material, and jazz it up a bit yourself.
HTH a wee bit.

Aww I know how you feel I totally love my dress it made me feel amazing, try and get the make, style number/name from the shop and look on ebay, google it, there are tons of websites selling second hand dresses in fab condition and you may be able to find it that way. (oh and don't forget to ask what size they would order you, as you probably know wedding dress sizes vary hugely, if you come across the dress ask the seller for the measurements and check if the size they state is their dress size or that of the dress IYKWIM)
Be careful of dresses from China, my friend wanted to find hers cheaper and we came across an american site. She asked them about having different coloured beads on and it turned out they had taken the pictures off the big bridal companies websites and they were just cheap fakes!!
Good luck hope you find it

I'm getting married on 2nd May and we are having a very cheap wedding and not looking at spending anymore than £700 on the whole day.
My problem is i've found the dress of my dreams, when i put it on and looked in the mirror i cried. I've never in my life felt so beautiful and amazing. I felt like a different person it made me feel so cofident and worth something.
Now for the tricky bit, it was £850!!!!!!!
What do you do when you find the dress of your dreams and you cant have it?? I cried my heart out last night and i even dreamt about it last night!

Na one big problem the dress is a one off only ever one made by these people local to me. They do local wedding fairs in hotels and make these dresses in their own little factory.
I've just got myself a little job so going back to the fair in a few weeks and if they still have it i will get it.
