my mum was with me when I originally picked it (and tried loads of others on) and she agreed with me that it was the right style for me. Unfortunately she lives 2 hours drive away so she can't come in the week when I go for alterations, I can't really ask mil as she needs to look after my two boys (not sure she would be honest tho anyway) and the only friend I have nearby who I think would be honest has two small boys too so I doubt she would be able to come, so the short answer is no!

I think I'll just wait till it comes back and I can bring it home and try with all my accessories, if I am still not happy after that then I guess I'll have to whizz down the motorway to lakeside and try some on in monsoon, bhs and debenhams!

If you wanted to give it a bit of glitz could you (or someone whose handy with a needle) sew on some beads, they don't have to be anything major just something to catch the light. I think Debenhams and BHS do reasonably priced wedding dresses and I think many of them are like the sort you describe. Good luck hun xx

not really sure what to say hun,but if you didnt feel comfy in it or like the way it looks then maybe you should look for something else. You want to feel 'right' in your wedding dress.

i think when you think of wedding dresses you automatically think of a long, big dress, maybe cos its short it doesnt feel or look 'wedding style' to you.

i bet it looks lovely and with accesories im sure it will 'jazz' it up abit.

was anyone with you when you tried it on? get someone elses opinion on it if you can.

I went for my first fitting today and now I am having doubts. I wanted a really simple short dress, I felt really uncomfortable in all the "big" dresses I tried on and as we are having a really i nformal day and I am not really a "dress" person I wanted something plainish.

Anyway, I went for a bridesmaid dress and had it made in ivory, the one I tried was pink so today was the first time I saw it. I am pleased with the fit, but I am not sure if it looked kind of cheap - it cost £200 so its not cheap imo. obviously it looks quite plain but off course I did not try it with jewellrey etc

Not really sure what to do now, wedding is at start of November so I can't really get anyhting else unless I get something from monsoon etc or off ebay, and I am not sure I want to do that anyway. I def do not want a long dress. I'm just worried I will look like a cheap and nasty imitaion of a bride!

So you think its just nerves or do you think I should start looking for another dress just in case?
