ahhhhhhhhh WOW yes how that game makes me mad!!! my dp has a few char mainly lvl 70's & plays all the time and when his not playing his reading about talent points etc on the net. I set up an acct so we could play together i managed to get my mage upto lvl 45 & then gave up it done my head in, people take it so so serious its unreal. He wanted us to play all the time after work & wkends etc and he forgot that there it housework to do etc..... he is addicted to it & it is so annoying as so many people in his family play as well..... we have split up over this many many times..... and now he tells me that he will get out little one on when she is old enough to play.. no way!! as daft as you may think i can understand why relationships split up over this!!

Us women need to set up WOW widows lol

Your gonna love it BidDaddy mate, nothing beats it mate!

You should look into investing into a 360 mate, get on the xbox live, as the mrs loves playing these arcade games with me when little man is in bed, certainly better than eastenders!!!

Hiya, Sorry for hijacking Dads Forum but could'nt resit posting a reply about WoW.

My partner is in a 'serious' raiding guild. So that means 6 nights a week from 6pm onwards. Before  I fell pregnant I used to raid with him in the same guild.  I dont miss raiding, I played Priest & found it too stressful & omg some of the men were so jealous when you finally got a decent drop lol. I play every now & again, but its just to level my little mage.

Anyways, partner says he wont spend all that time on the computer when baby arrives, as baby is more important than raiding. Hopefully, he'll stick to his word & wont get too many withdrawel symptoms.

I have faith in him, otherwise I might as well be alone.

JR28, both me and my wife both play on the PS2, granted me more than her. In fact she looks hilarious at the mo rockin' on Guitar Hero being 34wks pregnant!

I only really get chance to have a decent game once she's gone to bed, but I can't wait to put it all away to be rocking my little boy to sleep instead. And some of the Gore I've seen and created on some games is going to be nowt compared to what my db will be creating in his nappies! BRING IT ON!!!!!

BigDaddy, I'm actually in agreement with you mate.

But I was playinig it before little one came along and would spend every night on WoW.

I cancelled my sub last year and have couldn't even consider picking it up again, no way on earth could I spend that much time in the gaming world again, had my time, so to speak.

Although me and the mrs have a bash on the xbox live thingy, bomberman, track and field, great fun games to spend a little time on!

Sorry, World of Warcraft is a game right?

    A game?????

i'm gob smacked people dedicate SO much time to a game.....

I'm a gamer, but with a baby on the way i've got so much more to do with my time. Why don't you just turn off the PC and something a little less boring instead!  (to coin a phrase from 80's tv!!!!!)

I know what you mean.. i hate the game, my bf wakes up switches the pc on and sits there all day on the fu**ing game!! so so mad. we have a daughter due in 3 weeks n he said he wont play it when she comes and if he does we will be over although he is talking non stop about the new expansion pack coming out soon.. ohh if he isnt playing on it he sets up his bot and cheats.. so the pc plays it self! Im not bothered as if he doesnt stop playing it when dd comes he'll be gone because im actually so fed up now its not funny.. if i ask him to do something (i.e carry the hoover up stairs) his reply is i cant right now as ive just entered a raid!! Not happy with Blizard (makers of the game) or my bf for falling for these loosers!!

Sorry I'm gatecrashing but was just checking out what the Dads have to say and saw the dreaded WOW word and I couldn't resist replying to something that is a dreadful and depressing part of my life.  Oh how I hate it.  My DH spends every night on it from 6-4am.  He is a SAHD so when I get home he is playing already and I hardly get a word in because he is chatting to his raid buddies.  On weekends he thinks he doesn't play that much but in truth he logs on about 1pm when DD goes for a nap and then it is an all nighter again with maybe an hours break when I nag him(oh he only gets out of bed at 11/12am by the way).  Be careful WOW is fun but it gets out of control.  Playing WOW is all or nothing to keep up with your mates, there is no such thing as I will set myself x hours and then log off, it doesn't work like that.  Personally I would love to delete his account but I know that will have BAD consequences as he has warned me.  I love him but truly - how pathetic...  I want to get him an XBox so he can play without the committments to keep up with his raid group.  OH HOW I HATE WOW!!!!!  I syphathise totaly with your OH.

    He he, been there mate.

I started Warcaft when it first came out, I played it every night.

Got a bit too much though mate, I was missing out on my relationship with the Mrs and my son.

Id get in from work, eat, then jump on to go questing or on raids and spend all night doing these.

I started cutting down to a couple of nights a week, but I'd miss out on my raid spot or not keep up with everyone, so it worked best for me to stop playing altogether. I closed account down, went and got myself an Xbox 360 so I can play games when I have the time, that are not as time consuming.

So yeah, I get where your mrs is coming from mate, 1 game ruined a relationship before, and I'm not letting it get in the way again, especially since we got little man now.

Cut it down or start playing games that you can pick up and play rather than having to dedicate an aweful amount of time to.
