The problem now is in my area now they are moving all the clincs around so that one thing is on one site so they don't do 1 tretment at more than 1 hospital so you end up going to lots of different hospitals. Hope you are well and get your appointment soon.

DP has been taking me to my appointments so upto now it has been ok, I am waiting on my ultrasound appointment at Warrington Hospital.  Then I am guessing back to my consultant at Runcorn Hospital, so I am hoping that whatever treatment I am going to have to have I can have it done in a Liverpool Hospital.  Dont want to have to get DP to take me all the time.  I am going to have to say this to my consultant.

Hi I had the ultrasound done at the same time as pressure so wasn't to bad as everything was done in one go. My treatment has been over 3 hospitals and I don't drive so it is a pain. Hope you get a date soon.

I have had the pressure test and also they tested my muscles and nerves, my outer muscles are not very strong.  I am still waiting on my ultrasound appointment.  I am hoping it wont be much longer.  WHatever treatment I need I am hoping I can get it here in Liverpool cos I am unable to travel to Runcorn or anywhere else I can not drive.

Hi Im back nice to see a few more people join us. I went to Cornwal so not got a tan. We have decided to carry on trying for another baby so I have got to ring the hospital and tell them I don't want the treatment just now. Has any of the new people had this treatment and does it work? I have put the name further down they put a injection in your foot and it works your bum?

Hope your test went ok. Also hope you appointments come throught fast.

    hiya

thank you for your reassuring answer!! You would think that after childbirth a few little tests that may hurt are going to be a walk in the park. I still think i would rather go through child birth than go to the dentist!!!!!!!!!

my appt is at 2.20....seems a lifetime away.

    thanks again xx

    Hi there,

No - the ultrasound doesn’t hurt at all. Quite similar to the pressure tests. I had to lie on my stomach with a sheet over the lower half of my body. They put a condom over the end of the camera bit and you can just feel they moving side to side etc. I gritted my teeth and it was over before I knew it.

They told me there and then what the results were too, so was quite helpful. I had damage to the internal and external sphinter muscles all the way along.

I too had the surgery straight after birth and after this last lot of surgery am beginning to think I must look like a patchwork quit down there - lovely!!

    Good luck tomorrow,

    xxxx

    Hello

Hope you dont mind me intruding on this conversation but it has been a great help!!! I had 4th degree tearing to the anal spinchter when i had my lo and needed surgery straight after giving birth.

I had the pressure tests done on monday and have been called for an ultrasound tomorrow. Does it hurt? Or should i say is it any worse than the pressure tests?

    Thanx

    Anna x

    Hi Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining your conversation, but I know exactly how you feel. I had my son nearly 18 months ago (had a third degree tear) and have suffered with the same problems as you. I have just had an anal sphinter op (about a week and a half ago) and am praying that it will do the job.  xxxx

Think I will have the treatment. I have no appointment to go back and see the consultant until I have had all 12 treatments to just see how often I have to have top ups as you have them for life. When I went last time I didn't see my consultant just one of his doctors and she was crap she couldn't tell me anything about this treatment she just said it's done in an injection up your bum which I now know is totaly wrong. I think if I delivery normaly then it will cause more probs but I keep being told different thing by different docs. The bum doc said no kids, the rhumotologist said yes ok, the midwife said yes ok and the physio said ok. So at least there are more people saying yes than no.

How are you getting on when are you having treatment? You should ask them about this if you find things are not working as in the list of treatments for bowel weakness this is the last treatment before surgery.

I would get it the treatment done, but if you are ttc then I dont know what I would do.  I have got a 5yr DS and a 10 month DD.  I am not planing on having another but, if I can get myself sorted out then I might think again.  I am sure you will make the right decision.

Have you asked if you waited for after the treatment has finished and you had another aby what are the chances of it happening again.  Only because I had an emergency section ofter 10 hrs of labour and failed forceps with DS and a planned section with DD, so it might be worth asking.
