I know what you mean its been 2 years and still not sorted. Physio shouldn't be that long think I had to wait about 3 months if that it was waiting for the pressure tests that was 5 months and the same for the camera as the doc didn't ent the form off for the camera as should have had that months before. Keep ringing them and check whats going on as if i hadn't about the camera I would have still been waiting. 3 months left now until go back and see the surgen as they put it back a month from may. It would be nice to see how long they would have to wait if they poo their pants?

I am still having problems and I am also still waiting for my appointment to get some tests done.

How are we all going on with our bowels at the moment?
12/3/08 18:59
Hanfeelingfat, I would have a chat with your midwife as you are a bit stuck now you are pregnant. Don't think you can have physio when pg as it stimulates you as if you are doing your pelvic floor. I am the same as you after having ds 2 years ago but I told docs/midwife the same week that something wasn't right. After physio, scans, cameras etc I am now still waiting to get things sorted and got to wait until June to see the surgen again. We are ttc so they will not operate until we have had all the children we want. Hope this helps you a little. Take care.

well lets hope it works, he said the other option was an operation which would involve temporarily having a colostomy bag, dont really fancy that, mind you at least i wouldnt have to worry about pooing myself!

kerryplu at least they are referring you for physio you never know it might help. I am waiting on an appointment to get some tests done. I also had a student doctor in the room I felt really embarassed when I got examined.

Hi guys, i don't know if you guys can help me but I have been having bowel probs for two years since the birth of my first child. I'm now pregnant again and probs have got worse. I get really bad pains like contractions first thing in a morning, and then desperately rush to the loo! Its a bit like constipation pains but my bowel movements are totally opposite and always loose. Doc keeps fobbing me off and I don't know what I should do. Please help??

well i feel a bit fobbed off really, he examined me and said he couldnt feel anything wrong apart from weakness so has referred me to physiotherapist (even though i told him ive been doing my pelvic floor) - he also had a young male student with him, he was about 18 - i felt like a right idiot!
anyway, ive got to go back in 6 weeks to let him know how i'm getting on but i still dont feel like ive got a solution to this

Don't know my pressure tests showed that I have very littler pressure in my bum so thats why I get very little time from thinking I need a poo to it coming. Got to wait until June to see the surgen as was just sent the results in a letter. So no idea as they are not ripped.
6/3/08 21:18
yes I have got to have the pressure tests and an ultra sound, not sure about the camera? can they fix your bowels then?
6/3/08 21:01
Sounds like you will be having the same tests I had. Pressure tests with a little ballon etc and ultra sound. Have you got to have the camera as well. The main thing that wasn't nice is with the camera you have to take some klen prep that is
to clear you out.I went to the hospital yesterday to see my rhumotologist and he thinks my bowel probs may be linked to my A.S. as a rare complecation so I have got to go for a MRI scan so not looking forward to that.
Take care.

not horrible but I felt embarassed being on show had a doctor, student doctor and a nurse in the room so it was crowded. Just waiting on my next appointment for all the tests to be done, DP will have to take a day of work to take me there cos I would not be able to get there on my own, but not want to go on my own.
6/3/08 08:18
glad it went ok, was it horrible? x

I was examined by the doctor he I had to squeeze his finger as hard as I could, but I dont think that I could even a little bit. He then put a long thing up to have a look at the sphincter muscles. He told me that my muscles are very week, and that the type of tests to be carried out, they do not do them at that hospital so the doctor has got to write to the hospital that does to get me an appointment, got to carry on with my pelvic floor exercises. I had to buy an Athena Pelvic Floor exerciser cos I could not do them myself, my pelvic floor is still not strong yet.

Hi how are we all doing? I have got my M.R.I. on monday. See if that shows anything
