Hiya just thought id say i saw the Gynae doc today at the hospital and he stressed that he would not perform any repair surgery unless i was 100% certain id finished my family (im 25 and have 1 child) because if i do have any more they will have to be c-sections or i will have to go through this whole thing all over again but even then i may be refused it on the NHS.

He kept drilling this point home.

IF you have finished your family go kick some medical behind and demand to be fixed. x

Too young just will not wash with me so I persisted with my consultant and I will til I get what I want.  I know of NO men who would be happy to walk around with 'meatballs' and god knows what else dangling off their genitals!

If you want something doing you have to persist and make it hapen, don't just accept when they say - all looks normal after having children!  It's rubbish and why should we just put up with it?  It really upsets me if you haven't gathered already and I only hope more women go for help if they feel they need it.  It takes a lot of courage but you have to think about the future etc...  Good luck x

hi i dont usually post here, i just read (lots!) lol to cut a long story short after reading what to look for on here i checked myself last night and i have a "meatball" - i suspected i had one anyways n when i went for my smear the nurse asked if i had had traumatic births, which i have both my kids have been prem. had dd1 at 32weeks was in labour for over 24hours before they decided to let me have the baby - idiots! and with dd2 i was 3cm dilated at 23weeks, had her at just 26weeks but i had to push my waters down b4 they burst them to protect her head. anyways back to the subject - iv just been reading the past post where the doc said they were "too young" for surgery and i am really concerned now. i am only 19, im going to make an app on monday but i am a bit put off as i may get my hopes up if u no wot i mean.. do u think iv got any hope n hell being serious??

I'm going back to my consultant earlier than the 6 wk post-op date, I am not just gonna sit back and take this!  There is no improvement in the appearance and I am gonna ask him to 're-do' me properly this time!  If not, i'll get a 2nd opinion.

I'm feeling quite upset abt things today and hate the way I've been left!  I mean as a man, would they be happy to leave 'extra' bit just dangling off their willy's?  No I don't think they would, so they can sort me out and properly this time.

Just proper annoyed as having to wait before taking things further with db!

I'm definitely gonna wait 6 weeks, I will do whatever I have to do to not have this procedure repeated atm.  Even if I think it has failed me for my reasons.

Do you not feel you could have sex just yet hun?x

I haven't yet!!! and I had my op done on 22nd April!!! I would wait the time they said hon because you need to heal and the last thing you need is an infection on top of everything else. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well, I 'almost' had sex last night, god I really wanted to but stopped obviously bcos I'm not even two weeks post-op, but seriously, when did you who have had this surgery do the 'deed'?  I'm wondering if i really will have to wait another 4 or so weeks!

I think I'm getting myself upset before I even give myself a chance to heal really.  My initial reasons for wanting the surgery was the 'appearance' of my bits and seeing what consultant said is minor prolapse.  I still hate the appearance and possibly more since surgery because I know I've had surgery and look hardly any different.  However, if I get tighter muscles and nothing else I may be happy with that.

I know my problem is much different to any of the ones you others have experienced and I hope you don't think I'm vain because of it.  In my opinion we are all individual and different things bother different people.

I am wondering though, I have had almost zero pain until the last day or two when I feel aching and get the odd twinge.  I'm wondering if this is because I'm healing or if I've overdone it...  Also, I have hardly bled but today (1 week on) I'm getting lot's of discharge.  Is this the same for others who have had surgery?

Can I also ask, is sex better for you?  I'm in a new relationship and I'm wondering when I can realistically expect to have sex and will it be different than before???

Hello hon,I can now cough and sneeze without weeing myself (and I don't mean a dribble!!! More a real burst of urine) but if I need to go to the loo I cannot hold it or make it to the loo on time I still not only leak but start to wee and can't stop. It is still much better than it was though so I guess that's something. My 1st check up is in August - 4 months after surgery so I will see then what is happening. Are you feeling any better? xxx

Get well soon hon!! Just give yourself time, I know I felt quite down and emotional for about a week or so after surgery so give yourself time and rest all you can. Mine hasn't been the success I hoped it would be but there has been some improvement so I guess thats better than none at all. Let us know how you are coming along xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm home, had surgery yesterday.  Consultant had said he was gonna do an anterior and posterior repair but only ended up doing anterior.  I feel disappointed already because I just know there will still be skin visible to me that he said he'd get rid of.  On the plus side the anterior is looking loads better and I have had NO pain whatsoever.

Before I get down about it all too much I'm just gonna let myself heal and deal with it in a few weeks.  So glad I had it done so far, fingers crossed for me.  Will keep you posted.xx

Hello there.  I think I may have a prolapse.  I felt something drop out of me last night so I had a look & saw a pink piece f flesh bulging out of my vagina.  I could pushi it back in but it's still in there!  So I've made an appointment with my GP for tomorrow morning.  It's 5 weeks since I've had my son (3rd baby).

Hi ~ I had a bladder sling done 2 years ago and when I went for my 2 year check my bladder had fallen again! The Dr. said she was seeing alot of the slings not holing well and now wanted to do a Bladder tuck. They have a new procedure which actually used the pelvic bones somehow.. anyway - I had that done April 1st.. I'll let you know how this goes. I wonder if i am just paying too close attention to my insides?.. I looked with a mirrir, being curious, and i still see something and I didnt think I should see anything there.. hmmm Anyone else have these issues?

Hi all. I've got an update.

Saw the consultant 6 weeks post surgery and he's disappointed.

What they say is for someone so young, they don't like to sew you up so tight that you can't have sex again, so they go cautiously... but they went a bit too cautiously,  and I still have the prolapse. He was rather flippant when he said that we'd give it 3 more months of physio "... and then we'll see about another operation". It's not as simple as that from this side of the fence.

Anyway, i totally understand why they're cautious, I'd sue if I was never able to have sex!!! Things ARE better, I don't have to 'help' things along when I poo and wee etc... but the discomfort is still there, ie, I can feel my insides on my outside.

My advice is to go on your gut instinct re the surgery. I don't regret having the op done, even though I'll need it done again far sooner than the 10-15 years they reckoned! It's up to me if I have further surgery, maybe I can stick it for another couple of years and then have it done again then.

    Hugs everyone. x

hi - im 32, going back to see consultant again in morning-monday, after physio referred me back to him, spoke about a ring- not sure if that is an option, just seems like a means to an end for them, and at the end of the day its only a temp measure-i just want to get back to normal, especially my sex life, i feel like a nun-lol, i understand what physio said, im in so much pain and discomfort, that by having a ring fitted it will pull things into shape temp, and relieve this, but sex is still a no no and then what in long run, sorry to vent but i feel such out on a limb here

Julie -- how old are you if u dont mind me askin?  My consultant said he dont normally do this op on young women and i'm 30 with the two kids i want.

I am a little scared of having op done after reading what ur going thru (the lady who's already had surgery, cant remember name sorry)  I'm still doing it though, I just hope I dont end up feeling like you do atm.  I'm keeping everything crossed for you hun and really hope u get ur confidence back.x
