Medication? Sounds unusual that, I've no idea what medication could help this!
I'm not embarrassed at all talking about this sort of stuff so it was a no brainer for me. I knew something was wrong a few weeks post natal (see post below) and went to the dr. He confirmed I'd suffered some sort of prolapse and said to give it 6 months as I'd not started my periods again then and your hormones play a big part in your muscle tone.
Me being me, I gave it 12 months.. and nothing was any better so I went to my new GP (I'd moved house by then) and he was fantastic, never met him before and he of course examined me, and pretty much said "Oh, not sure what physio could do, everything's fallen in" and referred me to gynae. I went to gynae about 3 weeks later and he also said the same as with a grade 3 prolapse strong muscles will not move the organs in the slightest, but said we need to go down the physio route... had 6 months of physio which helped with urge incontinence and got me talking about the symptoms openly - I cried a few times cos it affected me badly in some ways... sex life, not being able to poo and wee properly etc! So after 6 months, I was referred back to gynae, he re-examined me and said he was more than happy for me to have surgery. 4 weeks later I'd had it done.
I'm only 2 weeks post-operative, but so far so good... got a while before I can have sex though and the stitches are still in, but I'm pleased so far. I can wee and poo without pressing my fingers against my vaginal walls to help move things to where they should be. I've got no incontinence since (which can be a side effect of pelvic surgery), and I feel no pain.
Ask away if you have any more questions. Openness is they key to stopping embarrassment. You're really not alone!!!
Good luck.

Hiya, don't know how comfortable you are with this but you need to have a look and a feel around to know what's different from before.
I could feel my organs moving as I bent forward, the bladder flopped right back into my vagina as i stood up, and like you PF exercises did very little. I had no stress incontinence though, I actually had trouble getting my wee to come out. I felt v uncomfortable down there, things just felt wrong. So I had a rummage round and felt something that wasn't there before... so i bravely got a mirror and saw a meatball sized lump of flesh protruding from my vagina. My GP diagnosed a grade 3 cystocele (grade 1 is slight, grade 4 is severe) or bladder prolapse. I also had a grade 2 rectocele, or rectal prolapse... and was suffering 'incomplete voiding' there too.
I think if your problem is severe enough to interfere with your daily life, you're incontinent, you won't have sex etc, you need to get it seen to. I went to physio and they can help in the majority of cases I'm told.
Good luck and don't be afraid to talk to people!

Hi All,
Had my pelvic floor (bladder and rectal prolapse) repair on Monday and spent just 2 nights in hospital. Amazingly I felt no pain afterwards, but was encouraged to take anti-inflammatory drugs, but really didn't need them.
I can now wee properly, I was suffering urinary (and fecal, yuk) retention, but suffered sometimes from urge incontinence.
It's only day 4 and I'm stunned at the result so far! Trying to take it seriously easy as the recovery I'm told is similar to that of a hysterectomy. Not easy with a todler, but we're managing!
Please, if anyone has any questions, PM me. I'm happy to talk about it.

Hi Since my dd was born 3 years ago I have had a cervical prolapse and also can't remember the name of it but my back passage gets blocked as it seems to go into a little pocket which (sorry!) I have to put my finger in my back wall of vagina to push my poo's out. Although i have been to docs and specialist about this they didn't feel there is anything unusual but i know my body. Had a mc in nov and even got them to check me out then but again they said nothing. Now i am 12 wks pregnant and on sat went ot hospital as my cervix was outside of me (bout 1/2 inch) and forced them to look at me. Eventually they agreed but now that i am pregnant they can do nothing until after the next birth. I want to find out what can be done but not got anywhere yet with this. I would like to know what options i may have so i can start seriously thinking about it.
