hi ladies, hope your all ok today, ive been reading your posts and thought i had better join and say hi.
im 30 and i have 4 kids, all difficult births and large babies. i started to notice my problem about 6 yearsago, after having my 3rd child. i started to suffer alot from wind (sorry if tmi !)and not being able to control it!! very embarrasing and starting to ruin my life.
i have also not been able to get to the loo on time,or have to run for it! this whole thing is starting to get me down now and ive started to push my friends away, not going out anymore ect because of it. i finally went to see the doc a couple of weeks ago and was given an appointment to see a nurse at the continance clinic. she examined me and said my muscles are not that weak, could do with being strenthened a bit,but not 2 bad. and gave me advice on changing my diet!!! as if i havent tryed that a million times before, even starving myself doesnt help.
my question is,will pelvic floor exercises help me? will it sort the wind out? ive got an athena pelvic floor toner but often dont have the time
so glad i found this site! xxxxx and good luck to everyone with there problems xx

Hi we have a post just called Bowel Weekness which there are a few of us on there and it is just for bums. May help reading back on a few.
Normal exercises they tell you to do after birth are good. Also when I went to physio she said to sit and just try to tighten you bum but not your cheaks. I found this very hard. It may help if she did some bio feedback which is done with a computer with a kind of tampax up your bum and it reads how strong you are doing your exercises. Also this can send electric to make them tighten bit like a belly toner.
Hope to see you on the other post and hope this helped you a little.
