Hiya Frieds, thought it was about time we all moved over from TTC as we've now all got our BFP's and it's not right been in TTC anymore.

Hope you all find me over here, cos I'm on my own at the mo and I can just imagine you all still over in TTC without me. Boo,hoo.

Well, 24wks today for me, can't believe that I finish work in 5 weeks, can't wait!!!!  The week I finish we are going away to my Dad's caravan on the East Coast for the week so it'll be nice to chill out and a chance to get my feet up for a few days whilst Darren runs around after Tom.

Ruth, I think you should tell Chris' mum that you don't think it's a good idea to come up that week and that you're heads will be all over the place and it's a special time for Chris and yourself.  You don't know how you'll feel when you go into labour and would feel embarassed if they were there.  Could you suggest to them that they come up and "help out" with the baby once you've had her.  This way you get to have a bit of a helping hand and they get to see their new grandaughter as well.  Ask them if they want to come up for about 4 days.

Be honest with them, they won't mind the honesty.  I'm sure they would feel better knowing that you were happy.

Hope you all find me soon.

Ruth, it does sound like you are doing better hun....  and sure its natural to worry etc.. we have a life time of it ahead now ive had days where ive sat crying as am worried something will go wrong -  and it sounds like you have the feeding down to a T  i do want to try BF but wont beat myself up over it if it dont work out and i wont be concerned if i have bottle feed,  long as me and baby are happy.  and i saw Cats post about you mixing with stars and thought she was messing as you had a friend called cheryl,  not that it was the cheryl cole pmsl

    Hellooooo everyone,

Well Ruth, good to hear you are sounding happier.  And i should think so too being pals with Cheryl - hehe.  You sound much better hon - those tablets are obv good stuff.  Keep getting out as well - as you said evennif just to the shop with the pram the fresh air will do you good and lord knows there is enough of it aboot at the mo - it's flipping windy here.  Did you sort out the poo situation - mum to the rescue.  I do remember you talking about your friend - glad it has all worked out for her and now Ems has a little play-mate.  Will def do you good to have someoje to meet up with.

Hiya Han - not long left now - and not long at work either - ahh bet you can't wait, maternity leave is sooo nice and fun.  Def organise to meet peeps tho or you might get cabin fever - i try and meet someone for a cuppa at least once a week even if just my mum or pj mum - otherwise day can drag a bit.

Helllooo to the other mums too - hope i will be joining the mum club really really soon - please please please!!!

Well had curry, pineapple, G&T, dog walk last night and nothing!!!!!! Having another curry this evening - this time from the curry house and hot bath and jumping PJ - he got away last night cos felt ill after curry (thinking i was ok due to enormous amount of acidic pineapple killing anything even remotly nasty in tummy).  On second cup of raspberry leaf tea this afternoon and BW doing a jig so maybe doing something.  Midwife has booked me in for a sweep next tuesday - was hoping she may do it today but not even due untill tomorrow so not over cooked yet.  Still, hopefully he will arrive before next week anyway or am just going to explode.  MORE TEA REQUIRED!!!!

Joked with PJ last night that BW wouldn't come out untill shelf put up in nursery for toys and baskets of nappies put up - went up last night so now i'm in trouble for promising thats what he was waiting for - hehe.  No we have come to conclusion that BW won't come out when labour in government - haha - don';t think i can hold out for a genral election tho!!!

right, off to drink tea and dance about living room.  I'll be back - hopefully with a baby!!

Still, making a point of getting out with the pram everyday - even if its just a stroll to tescos and have been going to a baby group on a wednesday.  Also my friend Joelle had a baby girl on sept 11th - not sure if you remember me talking about her - they tried for ages for a baby and ended up finding out they had loads of problems with infertility - then we found out we were pg with ems so i was in a quandry on telling her - anyhow - am waffling now - she fell by a miracle last december and Evie arrived last week!  Bless her!  So, once the dust has settled intheir house and her hub is back at work am sure I'll be seeing alot more of her too.  All in all then things are going ok - yes - I did that edinburgh pnd questionaire and got 24.  Am sure if i were to do it again now though it would be loads lower.

Anyhow - Ems has just done a huge monster poo and Chris is trying to sort her out but its hilareous as he's just holding her legs up inthe air and yelling eeerrrrrrrrrr - its everywhere!!  Haha!  Think am going to go upstairs and jump inthe shower and ignore him and let him get on with it - you gotta learn sometime dont you?!  Lol!

    Hugs to everyone,

Ruthie and Emily (18 weeks) xxxxxxxxxx

    Hey Frieds!

Thanks for all your lovely comments and wishes.  Great to see everyone out in full force.

Clag - your birth story sounded soooo lovely!  The perfect birth!  Bless you!  Good size too -  whole lb more than Emily -eek!  Know what you mean though re having another tomorrow!  Chris is well up for another already - lol!  I'm going to get myself well sorted first though - haha!

Vick - not long for you hunny!  I cant see you going much fiurther either - get that reaspberry tea down your neck hun!  Ems was 39+1 at birth and am sooooo glad she came early as would have defo popped if she'd gone over.  Lol.  You're right in keeping busy though - the last couple of weeks are a drag.  Make sure you have a nap eaxch afternoon - you never know when the time will come and you need your sleep hun.

Han - thanks for the message on Facebook.  I'm ok hun.  Will fill you all in in a bit on the pnd situation.  Re sterilisers - we've got that TTippie microwavable one too.  We've also got the Advent Electric one too - got it as a gift from someone - so have two to choose from.  Haha! We use the TTippie one though - and have even used it as the cold water version too as it keep everything sterilised for 24 hours - so as long as you remember to replace the water and the milton tablet every evening the bottles are good to go 24/7.  Each to their own though - whatever works for you guys really. Re formula - we bought some 250ml cartons of ready mixed Sma Gold to tie us over till we got the hang of just 'being new parents' - we then bought the big cannisters and use them.  She seemed quite content on the Sma - though to be honest Ems is so happy and content I really think she's take anything we give her.  She's had the c&g and the other one thqat begins with an 'I' - cant remember what its called though - and just gulps it down!  Bless her!  Not susre really why we've stuck with the Sma as she really has no preference.  I'm breastfeeding her all day until bathertime arounf 7pm then she has 210ml of Sma after bath then bed - then we give her another 150ml around 11pm-midnight before we turn in - then (touchwood) she sleeps right through till 8am.  It works for us.  as Clag said though the breastfeeding Police will sweep you up with their propaganda if you let them so dont feel guilty if you decide to give bubs formula - you are the mummy and what you says goes hun!

Lynne - how's things going hunny?  Are you getting much sleep.  Hugs xxxxx

Catherine - cheers for the facebook messaage hun.  Haha - yes Chris and I mix with the celebs!  Lol!!  Seriosuly though I've known Cheryl for years - well before GAloud were formed.  Met her through friends who went to school with her - geordie lass that she is.  Can'y believe Laila is 8 months now - how cute that she's crawling already!  Bless!

Well - woe is me!  Hahaha!!! Seriously though am getting there.  Saw my Gp and got put on a low does of Ad's.  They're called Sertraline and am taking 50mg a day.  Got another appt on wednesday morning and the HV said they'll prob up the dosage.  They really are miracle tablets though - lol!  After just 4 days of taking them (have been on them for almost 3 weeks now) the black clouds lifted.  Still having horrid dreams that have lost Ems so the anxiety is still there but everything seems so much clearer now.  The weeks are not whizzing by as fast as they were and am feeling so much more happier and in control.  Am getting out and about lots more too.  The crap bit is that we'e down to one car at the mo and Chris uses it for work.  Hoping to get a 2nd one in December but inthe meantime I'm stuck during the day.  Still, making a point of getting out with

    Hiya all

Huge apologies for absence - been busy busy busy - not having a baby tho -aggggggggggg will you get a move on flipping baby walker - get oot of my belly!!!!!

Helooo Han - sorry i abandoned you for a while.  you're on the 10 week home stretch.  Def keep busy.  I am and it is dragging slightly but not as much as if was just sitting at home.  When do you finish work??? Make sure you organise plenty to do when you finish day time telly can rot your brain.

Hiya Clagger - does sound like you had a rather smooth running - better than poor Lynne.  Glad Molly has settled now and is a happy baby.  Hope you are right re big babies - getting bit worried about head size as last measurment was 1 1/2 weeks ago and was 9.7cm and two weeks before that was 9.2 cm so had grown 0.5cm in 2 weeks - bit concerning that dilate to 10cm and that only gave head 3mm of growing room - aggg.  How is Tom doing - does he love his little sis???

Hiya Cat - nice to hear from you.  Can't believe it has been 8 months since our first group baby arrived - bless little Laila.  Bet she is runing you ragged now he is crawling - add that to Jasmine and the puppy and you must have your hands full.

How are you and Isla doing Lynne??? Hope she has settled in as well.

And Ruth - how are you doing Hon - hope things are getting better.

Well, no-one thought i would last this long - midwife is seeing me again tues but she nearly didn't book an app cos she doubted i would need it - will do some serious begging for some intervention i think on tues cos can'r keep going - far tooo huge for words now.  At least fluid gone down so bump more comfy and not so turgid - trouble is, all baby now - eek.

Going to start stuffing my face with curry, pineapple and tonic water, bounce around on ball and dig over more of garden as of Monday - sure he is nearly there - feels like have rock in pelvis so think he is engaged - come out!!!! i want to meet you now!!!!

speaking of meeting - we will def have to all meet up - once all present and correct.  Not sure where would be best but would be lovely to actually meet you all - tho Facebook doing a sterling job of bringing everyone to life more.

right, off to cook some diner - well make some drop scones cos we can't be arsed to eat after being at rugby club all day and having bigish lunch there.

will keep you all updated - hopefully not long now.

And claire i think meeting up would be fantastic and depending when / where ill be up for it    where would be best

Cat,  cant beleive Laila iss 8 months !!  how that has flown.......

Ruth hope you are doing well,  we are hear to chat

Lynn hows the new addition doing....

oh forgot to tell you.  after i'd had molly we were sat in the delivery room having a brew and the girl up the corridor was screaming really loud.  the next thing she said was (in a really high pitched scream, said very slowly) "get. it. out. of. me.  noooowww."

i absolutely p***ed my pants listening to her.

take heed, di it all very quietly, there's always someone listening to you.

a girl in the next room was a right screamer as well and my midwife told me that her baby was only 3lb 6oz as well.  my midwife was laughing cos i'd nearly trebled her weight.

good luck girls, i have to say i'm so jealous that you've got all the pleasure to come.  hope you enjoy it.

molly is doing well now, she's 8 wks on saturday and had her 1st injections today.  she was a bit of a nightmare first few weeks cos she wouldn't settle and was constantly crying when awake.  afer speaking to my good mate catherine she advised me to change her milk from sma to c&g.....what a differnce that made, totally different baby.  amazing!!!!  i do love you catherine. xxx

once you all have you babies do you fancy all trying to meet up somewhere?  let me know what you think.  don't wanna meet you catherine, i see you enough.......only joking hun.  thanks for a lovely afternoon today, totally wiped tom and molly out, both fell asleep as soon as i got home and still going strong for molly.

right, sorry for my absence.  it's been hard going with molly and tom. don't listen to people who say that having 2 is easy....it's bloody hard work.....but so easily forgot and i'd have another one tomorrow. lmao.  mary contrary!!!!!

    my birth story

i was due to be induced on saturday evening 5pm and was all set for a good night sleep on friday, my mum was due to come with myself and darren to the hosp and hadn't been out for about 3 weeks but on friday went on a leaving do from work and didn't get much sleep....bless her!!!!!

on friday night i woke up about 2 and felt a sharp pain in my stomach but put it down to the fact that i'd practically fallen onto the toilet cos i was half asleep.  i got back into bed and then woke up at ten to three with a pain again, a bit like stomach cramps that you get with a d***y tummy.  i woke darren up and told him that this was it, do you know what his response was......"have i got time for a shower"   yep, the lad had a shower!!!!!

i came downstairs and got straight on my birthing ball and at 3.30 my waters broke.  i rang my mum to come through, bless her she was well hung over!!!!  i got to the hospital at 4.30 and was examined and was only 1cm dilated but the contractions were every 5 mins so i stayed in, glad i did cos i don't think i'd have got back in time.

i was told that i would be examined again at 7.30 when the midwifes changed shifts so was basically left to get on with it.  at 6.00 my body was trying to push (such a strange feeling) i was examined again and was 6cm then.  the midwife asked what pain relief i thought i might want and i said i wanted an epidural but she tried to put me off (i'm so glad she did) and she said that she'd leave me to think about it and then buggered off!!!  funnily at the time i wasn't impressed with her but now glad she did.

at 7 i was pushing again but all the time, was examined and was 10cm and good to go.  i was pushing for 45 mins before molly entered the world.  i had to have a cut to help her out though, which you really can't feel.  just stings a bit.

it was a fab fab experience and i loved every minute of it.  from start to finish was about 5 and half hours.

i only had gas and air and so glad that i did, i really enjoyed it and was an amazing feeling.

9lb 6oz.......push that one out then!!!! lmfao.

only advice i can give to hannah and vicki is really really listen to your body, it is designed to do this so just go with it.  when your having a contraction it is so easy to loose control and let the pain take over and you'll only panic.  when you get a contraction concentrate on it and really concentrate on your breathing, breathing out is the most important part of it as this helps with the pain as your pushing the pain away.  can i come and give birth for you both>????!!!!????

Good Evening folks,  Don't know what to say first, appologies or congratulations.

Sorry for my absence, I'll give my appologies later on, firstly.......HUGE CONGRATS to Lynne, so pleased for you hun.  Sorry to hear that you had a rough time of it.  They do think they know best don't they!!!! LOL.  How's things going now for you, has she settled into your family life for you??

Ruth, sorry to hear about your rough time as well, it can strike anyone of us and it's much more common than you first think.  How's it going with you now? Have you had your scoring test yet?  Bet your much happier now that you've got your rings back on!!! LOL.  Are you getting out during the day?  I did baby massage with Tom and it was fab, the girls I met there are still good friends of mine and I still meet up with them every Friday and Tom goes to nursery with them.  If it's something that you've got available to you then I would def recommend it.

Hannah, not long now for you girl, only 9 weeks to go for you.  I would def recommend getting out and keeping yourself as busy as possible in these last few weeks cos they did drag for me with Tom, didn't so much with Molly cos I didn't have as much time on my hands cos I was occupied with Tom.  I have an electric steriliser and thinks it good but know that the microwave ones are just as good, Catherine has a microwave one so she would tell you the same thing.  I think it's just your personal preference.  I would certainly suggest getting one and some bottles in even if you are going to breastfeed cos when I came home from hosp with Tom my milk wasn't flowing and we were up all night with him crying, it was a Saturday night so all the 24 hour shops were shut and couldn't go out and buy milk,.  In hindsight we should have just rung the hosp and gone to get some from them, but you don't think at the time do you.  I bf both for the first few weeks and then started bottle feeding exculsively.  But it's each to their own so don't feel pressurised into trying and trying to bf by the HV's cos they do try to force you into it.

Vicki, I can imagine that as I'm tyoing this you're going into labour or already in labour, am I right!!! LMAO.  Hope I am.  Don't worry about having a big baby.  The old saying is "bigger the baby, the easier the delvery".  They have more weight to bring themselves down quicker.  I suppose it could be true.  I didn't find it hard with Molly that's for sure.

Right, think I've covered it all.....whew!!!.  Next page will be my birth story.

    xxx

    Hello, Hello, Hello!!!!!

Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to Lynne & Family and a huge welcome to baby Isla!!! Hope you are all enjoying your new arrival and so sorry to hear of your experience Lynne but hey ho you can join the Gas & Air club now!!! Imagine pushing 8lb 9oz out on Gas & Air!!!!

The others have so little time to go, cant believe how fast it has all gone!! Laila is now 8mths old and a beautiful cheeky little monkey!! She has started to crawl properly today after a couple of weeks of just dragging herself from a to b, now the fun really begins......!!!!

Hey Ruth, they thought i might have pnd but after my most recent test my score had gone down so they think im on the up! I originally scored 17 which was quite high but only  7 this time so a lot lot better! Do feel a bit brighter but i was convinced i had some sort of depression but then who wouldnt after a baby crying non stop for 17wks! Anyway hope you can get sorted and there is lots of ways to deal with it other than happy chappies so positive thinking xx

Good luck to the rest of you and will keep my eye out for your news

Lots of love & Hugs xxxx

Hiya han - yes i am still here - bit sporadic tho cos not sat be computer anymore so have to remember to check up on everything.

All ready this end - all we need is the baby - and hopefully won't be too long.  Am off to midwife on tues and then scan on thurs and bit worried that they are just gonna say - right lets book you in for induction - like now!!  would get it overwith tho - am soooooo fed up now cos really huge.  My tummy can't stretch any further it actually can't so gonna have to give soon.  Have been having what i can only think are BH's all day - like little shooty pains in right hand side of tummy and have more discharge but no 'show' yet.  Just want it over with.  Have had a busy fun packed weekend at various events but everytime i see a family member/friend/stranger on the street they say - 'oooo you're huge - not long to go then, bet you are fed up now.....' and now i just want to cry.  Have been putting on brave face all weekend but it's really too much now.  It's like i'm no longer  person just a huige bump - do they think it is ammusing to point out the obvoius - yes i am flipping well fed up - mailny of people pointing out how huge i am.  AGGGGGG rant over.

Have got nursery all set up now - looks sooooooo cute and antho quite small, furniture all fitted in well and looks very bright and airy - it's lovely.

My flipping fingers are worse - have pretty much lost all feeling in right midle finger and thumb and index get numb when holding things for long time eg driving or drying hair - will be sure to mention this to MW in hopes that she gets concerned and sends me off to hosp and doesn't make me wait anylonger - aggggg sooo fed up now.

Anyhooooo, how are you - last 10 weeks sisn't drag too much - last 3 are tho.  Sounds like you have everthing dorted - we didn't get a steriliser cos gonna breast feed but got a fe bottles for espressed milk and so got some steralising tablets so didn't have to clog kitchen up with another gadget.  When do you finish work - not long i bet.

Hellooooo to all the mums too - hope everyone at your ends doing well and lots of hugs to all.

right, off to flop on sofa and watch meaningless stupid film - hoorah.

Ah Ruth hon - you poor thing.  Sounds like you are having a tough time of it too.  Hope the doc get it sorted quickly - they do seem to get on top of things like that pretty sharpish but we are all here for you too.  Glad ems is doing well - will have to look at the photos.  Remind C that he can make his own tea sometimes - don't get over tired or you will only feel worse - or even get a takeaway so you can both have a rest.

Well done Han - doing a stearling job keeping us bumped up whilst the rest of us abandon you horribly - just been manic at the mo and been under the weather with a cold so not been logged on at all.  Not helping that now finished work can never be a***ed to switch computer on - or PJ always working on it.

Anyhooooo - who wants to hear my latest...... Went to midwife last tues and was still measuring bigger - was 37.5cm at 36 weeks and she wasn't sure BW's head was down so off i went for a growth and position scan.  They found i have wayyyyy too much fluid - 29.5cm last week vs average of 25cm.  BW also a bit bigger than averge - weighed 6lb 12oz at 36 weeks but nothing too huge so thats a weight off my mind - just all fluidy.  As a result, was referred for Glucose test - which i had today and no-1 copuld really understand why the doc bothered given thagt i only have 3 1/2 weeks left to go.  They won't let me go overdue and no-one seems to hold out much ope for me lasting 3 1/2 weeks anyway - was told not to be suprised if water break early.  And i'm not suprised - i'm like a little beachball. can't streach anymore - don't even think can drop much cos just so turgid.  BW's head is pretty far down so don't think i will get much warning - reakon that if head drops further will just be too much pressure and i will pop - can't see me getting any nice early labour signs - more like 'there she blows' any moment now.  PJ very excited tho - bless him he keeps asking if my waters have broken yet - told him i think he would know if they had- haha.

So, have to wait 1 week for blood results to confirm that i don't have diabetes - something i can tell you now given that stuff my face with sugar all day long.  And have re-scan next thurs to check fluid levels again - if i last that long - eeekkkkkkkk have no idea what to expect - agggggg

Will keep you all posted tho.

    Love to all

    xxxxxx
