I have a normal TENS and a labour TENS.

I think you would definitely be better off buying a labour TENS rather than just using a normal tens machine.

With a proper labour tens they have the right pre programmed settings for use when you're in labour. Plus the fact that most labour TENS machines have a boost button for use whilst you're having a contraction. Tbh I don't think a normal tens would even touch the pain when you're having a contraction.

hi i dont get that either lol i used a tens machine n was gr8 for beginnin of labour and caused no harm 2 baby i hired mine from boots n u keep it for 2 weeks for £20 but now i think u can jus buy them for that price! so if i were u id use it i dont get why it says not 2 use durin pregnancy wen a tens is one of the suggested pain relief methods anyway the only thing i can think of as 2 why it says not 2 use durin pregnancy is that the one ur mum has  may have higher currants if u kno wat i mean so if i were u id take it 2 ur chemist and show them the tens machine and ask if it would be safe 2 use and if not then ask why,if they say it will be ok 2 use then id jus ask them why it says not 2 use durin pregnancy they should be able 2 explain 2 u.good luck xx

    I have a questionWaterBabyDisco3939

Just wondering if there's any difference between them. My mam has a TENS machine which she said I could borrow but on the box it says "Not To Be Used During Pregnancy And Labour"... I mean, what's the difference? It IS a TENS machine after all.

I really don't want to have to fork out for use of a TENS (and also a bit late - due 2 days ago, but have been in agony for the past 2 days with backache due to Harriet turning back-to-back) so I've kind of chickened out of NOT having one.

Any help would be great cos if I really can't use my mam's I'd better get onto the physio department pronto.

Donna and baby bump Harriet (40+2). x
