yes we tried her with the doubles kit on top and as in my previous post her head didnt fit under the hood and she isnt particularly tall. i agree its a very handy looking pushchair and its not because its unusual that i dont like it (not sure how its individual look would affect a&e intakes) as i have had many unusual pushchairs over the last 12 years including some of the original 3 wheelers that back then were classed as 'unusual'.

it just doesnt suit me (each to their own) and my needs i know for a fact none of mine as babies would be happy in the cocoon bit as they have all liked to have a good look around after a couple of weeks of age.

my pp was just to make the op aware that there have been incidents of children hurting themselves with this pram its why P&T introduced the wheelguards in the first place because they recieved so many complaints and that many mums (obviously not all) have still had problems even with the guards. sorry if i offended anyone with the pram who is happy with it but its something i would want to be aware of if buying a pram. i had the sproggs sport last year and i had to send it back and get trading standards involved because the frame would collapse when going up and down curbs with my 6 weeks old dd in it! if someone was asking people for opinions on that pram i would do the same and give the bad points as well as good points.

I have never caught my feet either and I am 5 ft 10!

I will be keeping this pushchair for a long time. If baby no.3 arrives I will definalty be using this again.

I love the fact that a newborn can be totally flat. I always took my son out of his carseat when out and about (wasnt a problem as he slept like a log) as I felt him sleeping flas was much better than hunched in his car seat on trips out shopping. So doing this with a phil and ted was no different too me.

    I use one at work.

I have heard of the wheel problem but never experienced it myself, my children have either just never stuck their fingers there or never got them stuck?

My family have only ever had the 1 pram they use it for everything, children are now 3yrs and 5yrs and on a v long walk we will still attach the double seat for them to use. In all modes i think  its a great pram, single, newborn & toddlers, and now 2 toddlers. I love this pram and think anyone would get use out of it.

Im pregnant now and will hopefully use it for my newborn, if out and about and the youngest wants to jump in then they can.

    Its fab!!

Marajade... have you seen the puschair in the newborn and toddler position.... or just the double position for 6 mnt + and toddler position?

I don't know where to start on describing how wonderful I find the pushchair.

You say you don't think you would get much use out of it.... how come hunni?

my dd was 10 months when we tried her in it in mothercare the assistant helped us out so she was fastened in correctly and she could reach the back wheels and she isnt particularly big but she is a very hands on likes to get into everything child. i mentioned the wheel thing to her in the store and she did say she has had one or two come back with that complaint but many just get on with it by keeping an extra eye on the child in the back.

it is  a common problem just reading reviews on the net with the phil and teds doubles kit same as kicking the underneath part when walking but like you say all doubles have pros and cons there is no perfect double and like all pushchairs children should be supervised while in them. i think its a good pram if you are only going to get a bit of use out of the doubles thing but i personally wouldnt use it as my youngest will only be 14 months old when baby is here so i expect i would need a lot of use out of a double.

I do find it hard to believe that a child could really harm themselves badly in a phil and ted, with the wheelguards/mudguard fitted proprely. A few scrapes could occur if lo was not strapped in tight enough and was hanging out of the side. My son wanted to get in the back (EVEN THOUGH THE BIGGER?HEAVIER CHILD SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON TOP) I adjusted the straps too much and he thought it was great the he could see me and the dog while hanging out, until he caught his knuckles on the floor! He hasn't been in the back since. If the lo is strapped in correctly then they can't really reach out. I never find that my daughter (13 months) has ever even paid any attention to any part of the pushchair yet.

I am really shocked that parents have ended up in a&e because of this pushchair, but maybe it's just because it is a very individual lookinf pushchair and stands out. I am sure there are faulty pushchairs everywhere.

I couldn't have really contemplated anything alse when I saw how versatile it was.

Its really good to read your comments as I'm waiting for mine to be delivered, (should be here today or tommorow).  I just can't wait, desperate to go out for a walk, but with a 23month old and a 3 week old its impossible.  Come one phil and teds deliver my pushchair!!!

It is great because its like pushing a single pram instead of a double.

i wouldnt go for it as my frend had so many accidents with her son getting fingers trapped and a dog bit him when he was sat in the back, i wold personally go for the icandy pear it has the same concept of changing into a single and is fab, nice and small and very manourverable, that is what im getting. im going to go and order one at the wknd. they arnt that heavy either, i tried the phil and ted vibe and found it reallly heavy and bulkier than the pear.

also they are about the same price as well,

im not a big fan of this pushchair i have to be honest but its because i know someone who works in A&E who has seen a lot of children come in with friction burns and one with a broken finger off the back wheels as they are reachable as well as the breaks when doubles kit is underneath. phil and teds did try to rectify this problem by adding the wheel/mud guards but it doesnt always stop it.

i tried my dd in one as i was looking at doubles and was curious and she could reach the back wheels when in the back and when sitting in it with the doubles kit on the front she couldnt fit under the hood as the seat was so high up she was only 10 months old when i tried her out in it and will be 14 months old once baby is here so wasnt going to be any use to me.

my friend has one though and swears by it she likes it as her 3 year old can walk whilst she puts uses the double kit underneath for shopping.

Yes its the best double out there in my opinion. Can be used in various ways and grows with your child/children. I love it.

I swear by mu phil n teds, I would never be able to leave the house without it, or get in half the shops in the higstreet!

It is easy to push, narrow and easy to use.

The newborn carry cot may seem cramped but newborns love to be all snuggled up and I found it lovely and padded. My daughter wouls sleep for ages in it. And if we had been for a walk I cut simply take her out of the puschair and carry her inside still in the carry cot, and she would stay fast asleep. Something which was great with having my 17 month old running around.

I now use it for them both in the two toddler position and I still think it is amazing. And if my son want's to have a walk I have an extra seat for shopping bags!

It was the best money I have ever spent.

All I will suggest is to get the co ordinating sleeping bags. I onlt bought one as I had a mothercare standard one from my Son'd stroller, thinking it would be ok, but it was rubbish. The generic ones just don't seem to fit properly. The one I bought was on e bay and was at a good price. The accesories can be pricey, so look for good deals. And make sure you buy the doubles accesories ie the double raincover and double sunshade (if you intend to get them) as a poster on here didn't understand why hers didn't fit, when she had bought the ones to use as a single pushchair.

Hi, i have one and think its great (ds is 14 months and dd is 6 weeks) Both fit in the pushchair very well and there is plenty of room for the newborn. I'm so glad we bought it now. the main reason i like it is that i'm still able to get on our local buses with it as soom of them were too long and its so easy to push.

the only thing i dont like about it is how heavy it is
