U have to declare the mat all, however the first £100 per wk is not counted.Anything over this they use to help work out ur money. If u go on tax credit calculator then this explains this when u get to section which asks about future money...but u must tell tax credits about it.Ur mat all will not be affected by tax credits.HTH!!!

    hiya all

does anyone know if the amount of maternity allowance (for self-employed) will be affected by working /child tax credits and if so how much???  I know that tax credits are not affected by maternity allowance or pay, but what about other way around???

I hope someone can shed some light on this... much appreciated
