I have had a similar experience in this pregnancy. We were at a museum and it was hot and humid inside.I was standing in the line at the food counter, waiting to buy some cake for my daughter and just started seeing all blue and black suddenly and before I could get to my husband who was standing just a few steps away,I had passed out.I regained consciousness quickly, but was shaky for a bit after.I have never passed out before in my life,so that was pretty scary.
I mentioned this to my MW and she said that this is normal in pregnancy.Do contact MW if she continues to have such experience again, but definitely mention it to her at the next appt and see what she says.as pps mentioned, heat and humidity, or blood pressure dropping can result in this...

i have slight protien in my urine which can be an early wraning sign of pre-eclampsia- and the mid wive said if i get flashing lights, headaches, faitness to go straight to Dr's i would advise your wife to do the same as it could be blood pressure - or it might be just one of the side effects that she suffers and it harmless but i wouldn't take the risk.
HTH's and i hope all is well.

Didnt wana read and run,i've not had fainting and total loss of sight but had phases where sight went really blurry and weird around that stage. I'd get her to docs to get checked just incase, could be blood pressure or something. Or could be just the heat. Also low sugar levels can cause fainting?

Hi All,
My wife has had a pretty rough time of it with this pregnancy (our first) and this continued this weekend while we were at a wedding. My wife started to complain of feeling funny and tingly all over and that her sight was fading. After a few minutes she had lost all sight and fainted. This didn't last very long and she quickly came round once she was outside. The room was very hot and this may have been a contributing factor.
Thankfully there was a nurse amongst the guests who took care of her, but i was wondering if this was something anyone else has experienced. She is 23 weeks pregnant and apparently her mother experienced the same thing with her.
Many thanks in advance

Hi all,
Thanks for the advice and sharing your experiences. It's comforting to know that this isn't unique to my wife and helps put her mind at ease. It is a shame any of you have to endure it at all.
