During mine i did have the mw sitting there with a little aquarium net, fishing little lumps out of the pool
I was initially embarrassed, but they reassured me that it was completely normal and that they were pleased as it meant i was pushing properly. We even kept making jokes about it between contractions (i was pushing for ages due to an anterior lip).Tbh it was a small price to pay for a wonderful, relaxed labour.

i used the birthing pool for pain relief and there was a sieve on the side ready for any accidents!

Hospitals usually ask you to pack a plastic sieve in your hospital bag for this - I think they expect your birthing partner to scoop it out!
I had a water birth - and had packed my sieve but thankfully it stayed in my bag - no need to use it!
My water birth was amazing and would definatly recommend it.
Good luck.

if you are having a waterbirth and you accidentally have a bowel movement whislt pushing - what happens? does it get left? or someone has to fish it out? or is there a filter?
