Hi I'm 13+3 and suffer from terrible exhaustion in the early weeks of pregnancy. People who don't get it can never understand what it's like to feel so tired from the moment you wake up until you go to bed again. I worked full time through it as I didn't want to have time off but omg some days it was a struggle (I have a 9 month old and 11 year old too). It stopped about a week ago which has been a bit of a blessing really because I have an exam next week and couldn't do any revision for it when I felt so bad.

Chances are hun it'll stop when you get to about 11 weeks. I think it has something to do with the placenta taking over with the baby and your hormone levels going down.

Don't want to make you feel down but my tiredness never left!  However I am anaemic which I think explains a lot of it.  Hope it gets better for you hun

well I can say that it is right about them being about 18 years old lol but I also have a husband who needs the house tidy or else he is unable to live, I know he should he should be more understanding and 90% but then the other 10% gets the better of him and flairs up!!!!!!! I knew this default lol before I married him and is not going to change but it is just adding to my workload, he works long hours in a very physical job he does help out but sometimes he gets that tired he gets crabby,

I have a 9 year old so it seems a lifetime since I was last pregnant but I don't remember feeling like this at the start

Yep, 2nd trimester is radically better - or it was for me. I had terrible morning sickness and sleeping was the only thing that helped. It stopped overnight at week 14. I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and I've started feeling knackered again, but not everyday. As for work, I've got no idea how I would have coped if I wasn't my own boss. Especially as you kind of want to wait until the 12th week to tell people. Do have naps when you can. Good Luck, Chazza

Hopefully by your second trimester you should be blooming, although I'm halfway through my second trimester and the only blooming I feel is knackered but the I do have 3 toddlers

....................until you baby is about 18 years old!!

on first pregnancy it lasted until about 15 weeks, then came back again in the last few weeks.

2nd time is a bit more tricky no time to feel tired or sorry for my self-due to DS and work -  but generally knackered all the time i am now 24+2 - can't see it ending to be honest!

Dont worry too much usually by the start of the second trimester or sooner 10 weeks onwards sometimes you can start to perk up. This is my second pregnancy and both times i have been exhausted in the first trimester. Its awful because people dont understand as you dont have a bump to show for it.  Just try to rest as much as you can when you get home from work. Dont worry about the unessecary housework it can wait.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Hi hun

I think it was around 11/12 weeks when i started to feel i had more energy. But everyone is different. Tiredness was the really the only symptom that i was preg. I intially put the tiredness down to being on holiday and having late nights and long days in the sun. 2 days after we got back found out i was 7 weeks preg!

Once it eases up you'll feel great! I'm now 18+4 and feel great. I sometimes even forget that i am pregnant. Just cant wait to get a bump now!
