you need to stand up to them, you've got to think about the baby now and worrying about these things and having a poor working enviroment is no good.

if you are doing these extra hours i presume they are paying you for them and they will be on your pay slip. your maternity pay will be taken on the best paid 13 weeks during the last 26 weeks worked within the last 66 week time period. so you will get paid the higher allowance i presume which is £117 a week. if you want anymore info pm as i dont come into this forum that often, im back in ttc.

just to add if they are difficult and are going to pay you smp on your basic 15 hours id personall y quit and claim ma instead as you will get more that way. also then you can leave whenever you feel ready (after 29 weeks i think is the earliest).

im currently receiving ma but im a stay at home mum. i gave up work june '07 but because when i was pg with ds (conceived him sep '07, born may '0 i had worked 26 weeks during the 66 week time period and it was full time so i qualified for the £117 per week and i get it for the new 9 months!! with my last 2 pregnancies i only got 6 months.

    hth.

yeah, it's 15 weeks before the due date, i think. but the directgov thing gives you your own personalized calendar with important dates

go to direct gov and type in maternity. it asks you a few questions and then tells you exactly what you are entitled too. and you can print it all out to show your employer!

I work in a private nursery and although my contract is only 15hrs a wk for the past 3yrs i have been there i have never done any fewer than 30 usually nearer 40/50

except for the time about a yr ago when i asked my employers about upping my contract due to the fact that i always do at least duble my contacted hrz each week they said no they diddnt have the hrz 2 give me a full time contract when i argued that they must have the hrz because i do them every month they put me back dwn 2 my 15hrz a week for the next few munths.(as punishment for arguing with them).

its rubbish because i cant even afford to take holidays as i only get paid 3hrz a day wen i'm off due 2 my contracted hrz.

anyway back 2 the point there have been 3 people pregnant at the nursery recently all due at the same time and they were not happy and diddnt hide it they have treated them awfully ignoring them when they come in in the morning days they have aninatal appointments thay had them finishing early or not being in atall so they dont have 2 pay them 4 theyre appointments like they shud b doing.

I'm so scared about telling them as i know they're not going 2 b hapi infact they'll b furious i jst want to know what maternity pay i will b entitled 2 as i'm sure they will ave me wrkn 30/40hrz rite up till my leave but will i still only get mat pay 4 a 15hr contract
