I wonder if this is what I may have then. I had problems with certain foods in particular bread before I found out I was pregnant so avoided it and i seemed to be ok. During this pregnancy I have had cravings for bread whether it be as a sandwich or toast and since then I've had horrible tummy pains, tummy noises and loose bowels for the last 3 months

Hi there, i ws diagnosed with IBS few years back and i can totally sympathise with the stomach cramps etc....I am usually on medication cos mine is quite bad but since i found out i was pregnant they stopped my tablets so i have been really suffering. It can sometimes take time to do but you need to try and pin point which foods kick it off, after a while you start to realise a pattern of pain and symptoms after you eat certain things, With me it's white bread, cheese, greasy foods so i try and avoid them as much as i can to keep symptoms to a minimum! I hope you're not suffering too much cos it's really not nice, hope i have been of some help even just a little. Take Care .....Claire xxxx

hi girls, dont really know where to start. posted on here couple of months ago about probs with severe tummy cramping & recurrent diarrhoea (had it for 9 weeks) and that they were referring me to gastro consultant. not had diarrhoea now for few weeks (thank god) but still constant discomfort, especially after eaing
Anyway, last night pains bacame severe again but bump kept going hard (21 weeks tomorrow) so was terrified losing bump. they checked it all out and cervix was closed etc etc which was a relief. they asked the usual q's about bowel movements and mw came to conclusion that i have IBS?? just wondering why consultant never picked up on this and whether any of yu ladies suffer with it and have any tips, cus i am hating this pregnancy at the moment and dont know how i am gonna cope for the next 19 weeks or whatever it is.
Sorry if bit long, but know i can rely on you girls to help and didnt know who else to ask, or to talk to x x thanks in anticipation x x

Hi, I have really bad ibs and have done for years, prob since I was a teenager, but went undiagnosed for ages. During this pg it was really severe untill 16 wks, doc said I could restart tabs past 18wks and then it cleared up byself. I know it's hard but stressing will def make it worse, the best thing you can do at the moment is keep a food diary and try and see if anything in particular sets it off. Mine has improved since I bought a breadmakin machine and I now bake my own bread (sounds hard but actually very easy and saves money), eating small amounts often helps me, ie def have breakfast, a lightlunch, and then your tea, I try and have mine at same times everyday and then I try not to eat too late. I know that mash potatoe sets me off...it's just about knowing what sets you off. I know it seems scary at the moment and esp being pg too, but it will improve Xx
