I measured 41 weeks at 32 weeks and the mid wife was concernd, I had already been tested for diabetes as I had it with my first and the test had come bk negative. I like you was sent for a growth scan and was told my baby was very big and was booked in for another in two weeks time, I went for my next growth scan and they still said he was too big, so they did another blood test at 35 weeks and this time it came bk that I had developed gestational diabetes again but later on this time. I was put on insulin and was booked in to be induced, so the following week I had to go in hospital to get my blood sugar under control b4 they induced, this was a week b4 the induction date. At the end of the week when I was 37 weeks and due to be induced they changed their minds and said they will induce me the following week as my sugars were under controll and sent me home. The following week when I was going to be induced I went in to labour my self 2 weeks early and he weighed 10 1 oz, which might sound big, but I had been to to expect a 14 pound baby, so it just goes to show how wrong they can be, if they can be wrong by 4 lbs in one direction they can be wrong in the other direction too.

dont panic hun the size of your bump is no indication baby might be big. fuindal measuring is crap and it doesnt take into account things like Mums own size, amount of water being carried, how baby is lying and even being measured by diferent people can have a huge inpact.

with my 4th i measured massive from around 25 weeks by the time i was 32 weeks i was measuring a whopping 40 weeks so 8 weeks bigger. they told me at 36 weeks that baby was 9lb at that point so she would be around 11lbish at term! they induced me 6 days early and she was only 8lb3! i gave up a homebirth and everything for them and in the end it was all water even the mw who delivered her said she had never seen so much water come out of one person.

i have just had my 5th baby and i was determined not to be treated the same way even the consultants i saw were shocked by how much they insisted they knew babies size and they told me there is no way to tell a babies size until they are born!. i did get scanned at 36 weeks as i was measuring 5 weeks bigger but i felt it was all water again and at the scan it showed all was normal ( i felt like the too much water problem had corrected itself though because my bump seemed to disapear overnight) and baby was estimated 7lb.5 at 36 wks ...but +/- 1lb either side so could have been 8lb5 could have been 6lb5 which personally i think is a copout as thats pretty general. in the end she was born 1 day early at home and weighed 8lb14.5oz so just a tad off 9lb.

in my experience bigger babies come out easier and faster my two largest babies 9lb4 and the above 5th baby i had at home without pain relief or stitches whereas my 7lb baby i had 6 stitches and was clinging onto the gas&air for dear life lol.

i had a huge bump with 1st dd,didnt think much of it was sent for growth scans everything was fine.

was left to go 15 days overdue was in labour for 5hrs 30mins,babie heart rate dropped because i was soooooooooo tired and having trouble pushing her out,she got so distressed she had a poo inside me

she was born covered in green poo, cord round her neck and blue, she spent 5 days a SCBU where she was treated for infection because she was not breathing properly sounded like a little piglet.

    she weighed 10lb 2oz

Shes a healthyy nearly 5 yr old now, never ever ill

Because of the problems in my 1st pregnancy i was looked after really well in my 2nd pregnancy, new she was going to be another big baby as i had a growth scan at 34 wks and she weighed 7lb 2oz,my bump at 40 weeks measured 45weeks same in my 1st pregnancy.

I was offered to go to DAU everyday from my due date which just was not pratical,i had my 1st dd at nursery part time,so they induced me 40 wk 3days over due.

Wow what a easy labour she fell out, didnt even have to push, took 4 mins to get her out and she weighed 9ln 11 and half oz

Im 20 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 and have been told i will be induced on my due date, this baby is going to be big and my consultant said if its a boy it will be bigger than both my girls!!! not sure how they work that out though???

Have another growth scan at 34 weeks

With my frst baby I measured 37wks at my 32wk check, so about the same as you! I continued to measure bigger than I actually was until the birth. I had a growth scan when I was 38wks, and DD was sooooo big she didn't fit on the screen so they couldn't measure properly. They tested the placenta and cord, and everything was fine - just a big baby on board! DD arrived weighing 10lb 8oz, a week LATE!

im 36 + 3 wks preg with my second baby.

the last few times i have seen my mw my bump has measuerd big, i did worry too much at first because i did with my first, but for the last few weeks i have measured 5Wks big!

so at my 36 wk check up i measured 41wks!

ive got to go for a growth scan on thurs to see how big the baby really is.

im slightly worried because my first was 2wks early an wieghed 8lb, so really dont want to go full term if this baby is bigger.

has anyone every measured this big before? what happened?
