Hiya. I have a ds age 5 and with him I started to buy after I had my 20 week scan and knew the sex. I found it really useful with big things to spread the payments out over the following months. However, now I'm 6wks and have started looking already. I think I'll still wait to buy but tempted already!!
Sales are a great time too I brought lots in the summer sale with ds when i was 6 months.
It really is up to you but a wod of caution my friend had her baby 6 wks prematurely and had nothing so don't leave it until last minute as you never know... lol xxxx

My honest answer would be when the sales are on.. Sounds really cheap but me and my partner started buying when I was 12 weeks just because we'd seen a travel system at less than half price so we snapped it up while we could. I've been buying small bits and pieces pretty much every week and budgeted so we could buy all the large items by the time I was 30 weeks so we'd have plenty of time to decorate and set everything up.

hi. firstly congratulations!!! i think its very much a case of personal preference/circumstances as to when you start buying the larger bits. With my first baby we left it till about 7 months and then went and got everything in one go, purely for practical reasons (and dh hates shopping!!!!) i know other people who have bought one item each month. I know i didin't buy anything until 20 weeks - then went and bought some sleepsuits and bibs. i've done the same this time too.
Have fun shopping whenever you decide to go. its soooo exciting!!! xx

Hi, I am a first time mum, I am 20 weeks pregnant, just wanted some info on when people start buying bits and pieces, I have bought baby clothes but not sure when to start buying the bigger bits for the baby, ie puschair and cot,
Anyone have any advice
Thanks

Hi
I'm 21+5 and have really only just started. We've decided to spread the cost over the next few months but I wanted to wait till I got the 20 week scan out the way so I knew the sex of the baby.
I've so far got a bath set with top tail bowl and towel, a pack of 7 body suits which were a gift and I bought some socks the other day. Today I picked up my pushchair and some burp cloths.
Still got a long way to go so not going to worry about it too much but will pick up small bits every time I go out.
It's baby shopping fun!!
