With dd I put on 24lbs - she was 8lb 5oz.
Number 2 is due tomorrow and I've only put on 16lbs this time. I usually weigh just under 9 stone and weigh exactly 10 now.
And I promise you I have been eating loads and all the wrong stuff too. I didn't put on any weight really until about half way through this time. Think it's down to running round after dd.

I put on 4st with DS who weighed 9lbs 6 and a half @ 15 days late. I'm 5'10 and went from 11st to 15st. Pregnant with a pink bump now, conceived when he was 7 months, now 30+5 and I've only put on a stone and a half, though I weighed 11st10 when I fell pregnant. Not worried!!!lol
With DS I lost 2st in 10 days but nothing else shifted until I stopped breast feeding @ 6 months. You'll be ok!!!

http://baby2see.com/pregnancy_weight_calculator.html is a really good website that shows how much weight you'd expect to put on in each month and where it all goes. Sorry I can't make it clicky.
I would say that you're going to have to put aside your worries about gaining weight from your last pregnancy while you're pregnant again. Especially during the first trimester it's far more important to make sure that your baby is getting everything (s)he needs than what you look like in a swimming cossie. When they're born you can start thinking about losing it all in a sensible way with exercise and dietry changes to suit your life style.

Hi
I have put on 4 stone 2lb so far and am 36 + 2 weeks. I didn't have one stratch mark till last week and while there not nice sure they will fade slightly once baby arrives. As for not wanting to put a lot weight on, it is more about sensible eating of foods that give you and baby what you need, cutting down on foods or trying to eat less will only make you crave foods more and people then go for quick fixes which are high in sugar and like it suggests it picks you up initially but your blood sugars drop even quicker leaving you feeling the same as before. So my advice is eat sensibly therefore maintaining steady sugar levels and providing required nutrients so you will not feel the need to pick or crave quick fixes.
Hope this is of help and comfort.
(I have been craving these sugary quick fix foods and stopped smoking when found out was pregnant so didn't gain over 4 stone from healthy eating).

I have to confess im a scales addict! I cnt help but weight myself every week! I put on 4 stone with my first pg, i struggled to lose it then fell pg with 2nd and managed to be no bigger after than i was before. Here i am pg with no3 still not lost all the weight from the first!
As for exercise swimming is very good in pg as it supports your whole body! There are also a number of pg exercise dvds you can get that are aerobic yoga etc!

hi everyone, i have a dd who is 15 months old and i felt like i gained alot of wait i usually weigh about 8 and a half stone and went to 11 and im on 5 foot tall soi very small i got quit bad strech marks but look alot better now, but im 7 weeks pregnant and feel scared to eat cos i dont want any other strech marks i had a 8 pound 8 baby so quite big. im thinking of doing exercises but not sure which are good. please help as i am really worried

Don't forget.... You don't only get stretch marks from gaining weight - you can also get them from losing weight.
I got terrible stretch marks with my first baby, but they had faded by the time I had my second. (I put on 7st in 1st preg) With my 2nd baby I put on 4st and didn't get any more stretch marks, but I lost a lot of weight after I had ds and gained a few marks from losing weight. When I had my 3rd baby I put on 3st and didn't get any stretch marks from having her at all.
Hope my experience helps.
