I agree there... I was a bit of a lady of leasure with pregnancy no.1 and I was soo exausted when baby arrived.

I was working part time while pregnant with no.2 as well as looking after a baby who was only 6 months when I got pregnant.... I was on my feel all the time and stayed very active.

Both births went well, but the second one was super fast... in and out of hospital in 6 hours!

I have been swimming 1-3 times a week and have been fine. I have realised though that I can't do as much as I used to as I start to feel a little discomfort in my pubic/pelvic area.  Was going to go swimming today actually but had a bad night with SPD type pains.

I have also been doing lots of walking, cycling and pre-natal yoga.  The yoga is really good but I started at 18 weeks and will continue now until late into my pregnancy. If you are not too far gone this is really good as it prepares your muscles for labour.

The lady teaches us what movements are good for your perenuim, what helps to put the baby in the right position for a comfortable delivery and and also movmenets you can do to ease labour pain.

Swimming is good for you though so no worries about that.  The more exercise you get, the better your body is prepared for birth - or so I've been told.

The breast stroke... I can hardly swim normally never mind that. lol. I was never informed of a certain way to swim...... I think pregnancy is over rated these days women seem to think that we are not allowed to do anything.

There was no NHS around many years ago and we were all ok waddling about then.

u can go swimmin but ur only ment to do the breast stroke as doin forward or backward stroke can strain ur muscles around the tops of ur legs and ur pelvis!xxx

Meant to say.... you can't really swim... it's more like floating around on your back, especially iin the final weeks.

Your centre of gravity will most certainly change as you are carrying all your weight in different ares.

Hello. Swimming is meatnto be good for you but when I was on holiday, went swimming in the sea and in the hotel pool but didn't really enjoy it. It felt like my centre of gravity was all wrong and that my bum was trying to tip me up and overtake my head - V uncomfortable! lol

    Everyone is different though!

All safe as far as I know.  I went swimming alot while pregnant with my son. Was on the waterparks in Florida with my first pregnancy.

Second time around I went alot as my son is such a water baby!

The water is good for you when pregnant. Takes all the stress and srian off your joints and gives you a nice relaxing time. Especially at the end when you are bigger. It is nice to float about and not feel all heavy.

You are perfectly safe to swim in a normal swimming pool- unless your waters have already broken-in which case you may get an infection- but I went  to my local pool for both or my previous pgs and its always been fine- it's good for you- and baby will most definately enjoy.  UNless you obviously have been told not to by a health professional then go on holiday and swim with the others to your hearts content lol x
