I've been reading up on this because my baby was also footling breech at my 28 week scan....although the Consultant said no need to be concerned before 36 weeks.  It's the worse kind of breech you can be as there is a risk of the cord coming out and being compressed and starving oxygen to baby, the only option is c-section unfortunately, I'm trying not to worry about it for now.

a c section may be your best option. my auntie had two breech baby c sections 5 years ago and 11 months ago. the second one she had on the monday morning and wed afternoon she was walking round Next buying Jack baby clothes before going to pick alfie up from nursery!!!!!!! it may be the better option than to end up tearing badly.

Try everything you can to turn the baby. My lo was breech with bum completely engaged and when I had the scan he said..... come one lets' do this.... and he did! She turned withing seconds of him starting.

I was totally against a breech vaginal delivery because of the complications.... but there are risks envolved in every birth and as long as you know what to expect and that the peoson delivering your baby is 100% confident and compitent then you should be ok nomatter what you decide to do.

your breech presentation which is known as a footling is advised against by most obs although if you can find a VERY experienced midwife who has been on breech birth training you are in good hands.

there is a yahoo group called ukmidwifery where independent and pro physiological birth midwifes offer support and advice to not only each other but parents expecting too. Mary Cronk one of the most knowledgeable people in the UK in breech birth is on there so really worth joining and asking on there where you will get really good solid evidence based information to enable you to make a decision.

may also be worth looking at spinning babies website, moxibustion, accupuncture, accupressure and homeopathy to try and aid baby turning.

    good luck

Sorry hun  that sounds like  your baby is footling breech and the only option is c section if he won't move.i know bum first can be delivered vaginally but they do like to do a c section. I haven't had this myself but have read a lot etc cause my baby is also breech and didn't wanna just read and run. I hope baby moves or they can turn him

ive just been told that baby is breech and has his feet wedged in my pelvis so might be difficult to turn him. I have a scan on 17th to see what can be done.

Has anyone had a breech vaginal delivery as i would like to know if there are more complications with them, i tore badly with ds so want to avoid it this time. I know a c-sec might be better for me but with a 3yr old i dont want to be laid up once home for weeks.
