1st of all the pool is a fantastic choice, i loved it it was so lovly to see my little 1 reaching and grabbing under the water as if she were still inside me very emotional and well worth it
i had mine at a birthing centre so i had none of the hastle and all of the enjoyment lol, they filled mine wen i was 5 cm dilated and kept the water to body temp throughout so the baby wasnt shocked wen she arrived, the water had to be drained for the after birth but this took no more than a couple of minutes
once i was in there i was so comfy i didnt wana get out, im not sure hw u will regulate the temp at home as i had a plug and a tap to use wen the water was getting cooler,
good luck and brill choice xxxx

Ive not had one at home (thats the plan this time lol) but i had one in a mw unit. They started filling the pool when i reached 3-4cm. I was in it for 5 hrs, they just kept checking the temp and topping up with hot water as neccessary. If you dont fill it too early you shouldnt need a cover, as by the time it is full you should be ready to get in it

I would invest in a couple of sieves though, for scooping out anything that may get into the water (poo, bits of show etc) otherwise the water could get quite mucky by the time baby is born (and you dont want to be scooping it out with your hands
