Zachary is quite early walking but then Joshua started at 10 months so I guess we sort of expected it. I heard that boys are lazy but I have noticed all my friends girls have walked later than the boys but the girls talk quicker. So who knows!

Glad Jack is doing so well. Bet you are excited about his first christmas.

Zachary is 1 on 23rd December so we are having a little party for that with the family and then having a quiet xmas at home. Have done all our shopping for the boys already and most of the family. Quite organised this year. Joshua wants a roary garage thing and we have got Zachary one of those vtech musical tables.  Our house will look like toysrus come jan with both boys having their birthdays over xmas and having so many grandparents . All fun. And they don't get much the rest of the year.

Zachary is only just finishing with his 6-9 clothes so is a small baby too. He looks very strange toddling around as his walker is nearly as big as he is. LOL. Jack sounds a good baby at night. We have always had prob with daytime naps but then we have J around disturbing him.

    Hope you are well. xxx

Hi Colleen im so pleased for you that Z has started taking his first steps. When is his first  birthday? I thought boys were supposed to be lazy with things like walking so he has done really well to do it before he is 1. Is J at full time school? I bet you cant believe how big they both are now. Are you planning on any more babies in the future?

Jack is fine thanks. He is now 18 weeks old and was weighed last week at 12lb 7 so still putting on nicely.  He loves swimming and we take him once a week now. The problem I have with him  is that he wont sleep during the day even though he is so tired. He fights it all the time which makes him really  grumpy. I wish I could find a way to help him settle but I think he is just too nosy lol. He has also started to sleep a bit longer at night. He goes to bed  about 7.30pm and we dont usually hear from him until about 4am. He is in his 0 to 3 month clothes now so no longer in newborn yay.

My dh is off later this week so we are hoping to get all our xmas shopping done. We arent buying much for Jack as he will be spoilt by his grandparents and he is still so little. We got him a swing last month instead. What are you getting your boys?

Hope you are having a nice week and that everyone is well now. XXX

    Hi Lisa

No worries it must be difficult with a sicky baby. Poor thing. The baby massage might help as I have heard that is good for things like that. I never did it but sure it is evry interesting. He is doing well with his weight though, bless him

DH was supposed to be home tomorrow but his flight was cancelled so he is stuck in Australia for another day and won't get home til Wed now. So disappointed. And Joshua is not very well so that isn't helping. Have to keep him off school today and he is really upset about it. Has been ill on and off all weekend. Zachary is also a bit off but just hoping that is his teeth and not what J has.

Not thought much about xmas except for to pick up a couple of pressies for j. got to sort out z's first birthday as well. He didn't really have a first christmas last year and this year it is too late which is a bit sad.

He is still trying to walk but is a bit lazy and gives up easily LOL. Think it is because he is so little.

Right best go and call j's school. xxxx

Hi Colleen sorry I havent been on for while but Jack is a difficult baby at the moment as his reflux really effects him with heartburn and projectile sickness so that a lot of his awake time he is constantly crying.

Hope you and the boys are ok. It wont be long now until your dh is back.  I dont know how you cope with two little children on your own when dh is away with work. Jack is now 13 weeks old and last time he was weighed he was 10lb so he is putting on weight nicely. Im so tired still but he does go about 4 hours between feeds in the day now as he can take more with each feed. He also does smile sometimes when he isnt in pain from the reflux. The drs said he will grow out of it eventually so im hoping.

I plan to to take him swimming in November after his 4 month jabs, he should like it as the one thing he loves is bathtime. I am also going to take him to baby massage classes later this month as well.

Have you started thinking about christmas yet? I expect Z will love it this year as he will be a better age. Is he still trying to walk, pulling himself up on furniture? I cant wait until Jack is able to do more.

Hope you have a nice week and keep busy until dh comes home again.

We are on our own again as DH left for his two week trip to Japan and Australia this morning. Boys are ok, just trying to keep busy. Got to go and get J's haircut this pm as they have a school photo tomorrow.

    Right best get Z sorted.

Hi colleen thanks for the good luck and I hope everyones colds are getting better.

Jacks check up went ok he has to go back in 2 to 3 months time. His jaundice has finally gone which is good as that was what they were concerned about. He also got weighed at 8lb 4. He has started to not put as much weight on now as he is being really really sick after every bottle and sometimes upto a few hours after. He is grumpy and unsettled most of the time and when he has his bottle he arches his back and pulls away as if in pain. The doctor said it may be reflux and has given him infant gaviscon but it does make much difference so I am going to stop using it. I am going to change his milk to a thicker variety one to see if that helps. I just hope it does as when he is awake he moans and cries a lot and I am finding it really hard when dh is at work. This has mainly happened since he had his first lot of jabs so maybe it could even be a prolonged reaction to those, who knows. The drs dont seem bothered though as he is still putting a bit of weight on. I think they will only listen if he starts to lose weight which is rubbish really with jack being premature and tiny still. I cant believe he will be 10 weeks old on Saturday.

Hope you have a good weekend and J & Z get better if you are on your own with dh being away at work. XX

    Hi Lisa.

Glad you are both well and you are now off the blood pressure tablets. My friend went through pre eclampsia and said it was horrible and scary. Hope it hasn't put you off having more.

Hope Jack's check goes ok today. Let me know what they say. Glad he is putting on weight well. He must have an appetite on him. 12oz. I don't think Z has ever put on that much LOL.

Boys have both got colds and given it to me. DH has just left for USA and is sniffly too. Fun weekend ahead for me if they don't get better.

Rigth best go and get boys dressed and get j to school. Just wanted to say good luck for today. xxxx

Hi colleen everything went ok with my hospital check up and I have now been discharged.  I have been taken off the blood pressure tablets now so it looks like I was one of the lucky ones who doesnt need them long term after everything that happened to me.

I didnt think much to Jacks 8 week check either as the doctor hardly did anything and seemed to want us out his office asap. Jack has his hospital appointment next Wed where he should be checked properly by his consultant. The 2 month old injections he had made him a poorly boy. He hardly ate anything and anything he did eat  he bought straight back up, he also had a temperature. The following day he was fine though.

He got weighed yesterday and is now 7lb 13 which I cant believe, he put on over 12 oz in a week, little piggy lol. He still sleeps a lot in  the day though which im thinking is due to all the growing he is doing.

Hope you and the boys are ok. I expect you didnt get out as planned due to the weather. Its awful here too and hasnt stopped raining for days. Hope you have a nice weekend. X X

Hi Lisa. I am so glad he is doing so well. Yay he is in newborn. Mind you Zachary took ages to get out of newborn and he was 8lb9oz at birth and they said he wouldn't ever wear it  :O

Boys are ok. Z's check up went well. Well I found it a bit of a crap check up but oh well. Guess I am used to the German system where they are more thorough.  He is now 17lb sthg so is doing ok. Still on 25th centile though but at least they have stopped hassling me now and clothes last him longer so I am not complaining. He is pulling himself to standing now and looks so strange as he is so tiny it looks like he shouldn't be doing it yet.

Well we are supposed to be going out today with j's cousin to a country park but it has just started raining so not sure we will be. Got to make a picnic so best get on with that,

Have a lovely weekend and let me know how it goes on Tuesday.

Hi Colleen sorry it has took me so long to reply but you know how it is with a newborn lol. Jack is feeding about every 3 hours now night and day so im very tired.  I hope that Zs check up went ok. I cant believe he is 8 months old already! Jack has got his 8 weeks check up and jabs on Tuesday which i am dreading and I hope he wont be too unsettled for long afterwards. He was weighed today and is now 7lb 1 which the HV is very pleased about. He has now outgrown all his early baby and tiny baby clothes and is finally in newborn yay. I have got a hospital apt with my consultant this afternoon for my final check up and answer session regarding what happened with my severe pre-eclampsia. Im hoping she will have positive things to say as I really would like one more child. I also have a drs apt next week where hopefully he will be able to reduce my blood pressure tablet dose.

Did you have a nice time with your friend from Germany? I expect they loved Z and J. Its a lovely sunny day here today so I may go for a nice walk around the reservoir near where I live later on. I will definately get my DH to put some up to date pictures on here of Jack for you to see as he has changed so much.

Better go and get us all ready for my hospital apt now. Hope you have a nice day. X

Hi Lisa. Don't worry about him not sleeping for long periods. Zachary only really started doing that in the last few months. He was still waking four hourly before that. Not sure with prem babies either but Zachary started staying awake longer in the day and then started sleeping longer at night around 3-4 months I think it was. Now he is up most of the day - some days he only sleeps for an hour. But usually he sleeps from 7.30-8pm til 6.30-7am. All babies are different though. I was lucky with Zachary and Joshua that they both got into a 3-4 hourly routine with the breastfeeding pretty quickly. But then J didn't sleep through the night til I gave up as he always wanted his four hourly feed whereas Zachary seems to not be so bothered. He seems to have given it up in the night. Still BF him at mo and still no signs of teeth so not sure when I will give up. Have said if he bites me too often I will be giving up then but want to be able to just put him on cow's milk if I can.

Got friends coming over from Germany this weekend and they will come and spend the day with us on Saturday which will be nice. They haven't seen Zachary yet so be nice to show him off. Mind not sure they will get a cuddle as he is too interested in crawling around the floor now. Going to get him weighed in a minute as he has his 8 month check next week. Joshua has his pre school jabs as well which is weird considering he has been at pre school for nearly 8 months now LOL.

Right best get them ready. xxxx

Hi Colleen the pictures of Z christening are great. Im glad your dh is home with you for the bank hols, I expect the weather will be awful though as usual. Im so tired now its unbelievable. I have now stopped bf and switched to bottle as it settles him for longer, and I also think I wasnt producing enough milk to satisfy him. He now goes about 3 to 4 hours between feeds. I dont know if it is because he was premature but he does seem to cry a lot in his awake time. I cant wait until he starts to put on more weight so that hopefully his tummy will be able to take more food so that he will sleep longer. I will put some up to date pictures of him on my profile shortly. Hope you start to feel better soon. XX

That is good that he is putting on weight. I am not surprised you are tired if he is feeding every 2 hours. It does get better I can promise you. Guess he has a lot of making up to do. Can't beleive he is nearly 6 weeks already.  He looks so adorable.

I have put some pictures of Zachary's christening on facebook. Here is the link:

If you want to have a look. It was a nice day except for a bit of a family row but these things happen.

DH is away til Monday but at least he is home for the bank holiday next week. Right best go as Zachary is into everything now he is crawling.

    xx

Jack got weighed today and he is 5lb 10 now which we are pleased about. I am so tired at the moment as he is wanting to feed every 2 to 4 hours. He is 6 weeks old on Saturday which I cant believe. I am hoping that he starts to sleep more at night soon as the tiredness is getting to me now. He still shouldnt be here yet as my  due date was the 24th August.  My dh had his paternity leave when we were in hospital so he is at work now. He will probably put some holidays in soon though.

Glad all is ok with you and the boys.  Hope your dh isnt away too long. Better go as Jack is waking up again. XX
