Type in baby shower on google n you get some great sites, explaining what to do, the history and some great ideas aswel!

My friends are organising mine for the 5th July, i am due 21st, so my baby could be present to the proceedings!!!; They have come up with some wonderful ideas,.xxxx but as the lady below me said, its for all your friends to shower you with gifts and have a nice celebration aswel!!

Buy plain white value bibs, which once the guest list has been confirmed write each persons name in blue/pink gliter on the front as a name badge!! (Loving this idea!!!)

Bring a photo of each person as a baby n guess who is who,

Fastest person to drink wine from a baby bottle!!

Ice cubes with ickle babies or ickle plastic dummies in and everyone gets one and the first one to get the baby out wins!!

Put ickle babys in clear balloons with water n the first to get the baby out!

Everyone gets a card to fill out their guess of when, weight and time of babys arival! Keepsake.x

Have a book that everyone can write their best wishes in, a kind of log of your baby shower!! Gives peeps something to do aswel!! Helps keep conversation flowing - although loadsa women in one room this shouldnt be a problem! Add all the photos taken in the day and what a lovely pressie or keepsake.xx

To my knowledge, your friend(s) usually host this for you, usually the 1st baby.  Sometimes, it is even a surprise.  The idea is to "shower" you with gifts so if your friend (or the hostess/organiser is experienced and depending on the theme, she/they will want to know what items you already have and will organise to have the rest of your baby list so that your friends can buy your gifts for you.  Having said that, being that this is not your first, they may decide to ask your friends vouchers or whatever is suitable.

I hope I've made sence but you can email lutuffy@hotmail.co.uk">olutuffy@hotmail.co.uk directly for some more info.  She does baby showers and may be able to give you personal info.Oh and regarding the timing.  Usually later in the pregnancy, I think the idea is that they will do it when it's not too late (so you are not too big and too tired) and also to give enough time so that whatever gifts you don't receive then you have enough time to get yourself.

The day is just a fun day for you and the girlies - though some now have men attending but it really depends on your preference.  It may be done in someone's house (usually the hostess/organiser) but it's flexible and really whatever works for you.
