I enjoyed this film as it was very jumpy and after the film i researched about the true events it was based on.heres what i found out............
According to production notes,[2] the film was inspired by an event from director Bryan Bertino's childhood: a stranger came to his home asking for someone who was not there, and Bertino later found out that empty homes in the neighborhood had been broken into that night.[3] In interviews, Bertino stated he was "very impressed" with some of the theories circulating on the Internet about the "true events" the movie is allegedly based on, but said his main inspiration was Helter Skelter, a true crime book about the 1969 Manson family murders

Theres another film advertised called The Mirrors (I think?) ........that looks very creep so won't be going to see that!!

Mutha....yes,they say "because you were home".
At the beginning of the film it says its based on true events (or something like that) ..........I really enjoyed it even though I had to make my 12yr old son sleep in my room 'cause I was too scared to sleep on my own!

There must be alot of it about then ! As them was inspired by an Austrian couple who were murdered in their home by.... wait for it... 3 teenagers! Reminds me of a film I saw recently! Maybe its true that ideas just float out there in the combined psyche and coincidence saw 2 very similar plots in 2 films.

Ali,sorry but according to IMDB the strangers was written two years before Them was made..they may have made it similar but its not a remake of them. -

I think they say in the ads "why are u doing this to us" and they replay "because you were home"

Yes so they say! They have pinched the basic story and then americanised it totally.

i can never make out what they say in the ads when the woman says "why are u doing this to us?" can never make out their reply. Is it based on a true story. oooh scary xxx

Them is much better than this but its not a remake of Them as someone said earlier,i thought it was and its not according to the IMBD website. -

It starts in the early hours of the morning with this couple coming home from a wedding (they've rowed as he asked her to marry him and she said no)....then they get a knock at the door from this weird girl. They send her away then they start getting terrorised by her and two others (all in creepy masks) .....just the sound of them knocking at the door scared me!!
Won't say anymore as don't want to ruin it for any1.

Laughed myself silly at the first shot of the stranger lurking behind her in the house, and although there were a few frights its not a patch on the original film...Them.

I thought it was very good and I must admit to jumping (quite high) in a few places
